Situated in Varkala and with Varkala Beach reachable within 500 metres, The Barefoot Varkala features a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. Such a fantastic hostel!!! Staff super welcoming and create a lovely atmosphere, getting people together for sunset swims and lunches out, really nice communal areas and shaded spots with hammocks, lovely affordable food if you can't be bothered to take a short walk to any of the nice cheap spots nearby. Just a great hostel with top people. A reason to come back to Varkala!!!

Situated in Ernakulam, 14 km from Kochi Biennale, Zostel Kochi (Ernakulam) features accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a restaurant. The hostel was very clean, everything was new and worked well. It was nicely furnished. There was warm water in shower. Lot of space in the room and common area. The common area seemed good for socializing. There wasn't a kitchen but a place to eat your own food and wash your dishes. Air conditioning worked well in the room. There was a television in the common area from which you could probably watch movies. There was nice music in common area. The place was peaceful. I could leave my luggages in the hostel for few hours after checking out. There was a small cafe from where you could buy drinks like coffee, juices and maybe some cutted fruits.

Situated in Wayanad, 18 km from Heritage Museum, Crossroads Hostel 1957 features accommodation with free bikes, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. I had the perfect stay at crossroads, amazing vibe and the setting was perfect. Can easily hire a bike if u want to explore Wayanad or sit back a relax, really felt like i was home. I could of easily stayed for weeks even after extending my stay. Hospitality was so nice and the food served by the chef was amazing with huge portions and with little cost. Oh and theres a dog that will follow u around if u feed him biscuits 😃 see u soon guys!

Conveniently situated in the Fort Kochi district of Cochin, Bunk house Fort Kochi is located 400 metres from Fort Kochi Beach, 600 metres from Kochi Biennale and 10 km from Cochin Shipyard. the staff are excellent it was my first time travelling and they didn’t hesitate to give me great tips and pointers the building has a great charm it was built in the 1700s and they’ve done a terrific job of maintaining it.

Situated in Cochin, 600 metres from Fort Kochi Beach, Kochill - Relax & Stay - provides a tour desk and free WiFi throughout the property. I have had couple of surgeries before having to have stayed at Kochill. Babu helped me every time of every day. He looked after me in a very calm and non intrusive way. He was always there for every request that I made as a recovering patient. And he was really helpful and affable with other guests too. The entire staff of this place has 5/5 starts from me. Thank you very much :)

I've been to Hostel Gandhi in Chennai as well. Comparing it to Chennai, this is a smaller property, a renovated Kerala-style home, clean, and well-kept.

A clean, comfortable and cosy hostel that is great for backpackers or short termers. Location is also good as you can walk to the metro station and the jetty.

Set in Varkala, 200 metres from Odayam Beach, House Of Surf Hostel for Women offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a shared lounge and a terrace. Although I only stayed one night the service was incredible. Swati took such good care of me, it was very heart warming. The place was undergoing some construction and I was the only one there (which led to my decision to move) but once they're back on track and full of guests I think staying there will be a blast. Rooms are beautiful, cozy beds and close to beautiful odayam beach.
