Our apartment had a comfy living room, two double bedrooms and a kitchen, with a kettle, microwave, fridge freezer, a washer / drier, and an iron and ironing board. It also had a balcony, not that we found the time to sit out there! The reception staff were helpful.

The hotel has a number of apartment blocks. The corridors are quite dark and depressing. Can I suggest that Oaks reconsider the message card placed in the room that asks that when you leave, you dispose of your rubbish down the garbage shute near the lifts, as our block had no such facility. We ended up handing it to reception! I also have to comment that this was the only place we stayed where the cleanliness was questionable. The kitchen surfaces and drawers were sticky, and the patio was a bit smelly.

Great location right in the heart of Darling Harbour across from the Chinese Gardens. Bed was super comfy and room had everything we needed.

The staff member who served us at reception obviously didn't like her job very much. She was sullen and quite rude but besides that, it was a great stay.

It was a bit more of a walk to the trams and trains than I expected but in reality it was only a 10 minute walk to Southern Cross.

Condition of apartment and common areas. It’s very tired and needs a good refurb. The whole place needs new carpet and painting. The entrance on level 2 is very unappealing. Toilet roll holder was broken, iron wasn’t working, ironing board didn’t work very well. I think the only way you manage to be 4 star is your reception is open 24 hours. The service from staff was excellent though and its a great location.

Beginning to look a little tired. Paint peeling on the staircase and other 'dark brown' areas. Bathrooms clean but had a lingering bleach smell. For some this may feel like a positive. For me as I can have a respiratory response to bleach/chlorine I opened doors and windows to dissipate the smell. Firstly, hope this was not an inconvenience and secondly, maybe worth considering using a less aggressive cleaner.
