I went to Zeitlang with my mum for a couple of days to relax and explore the Bavarian Forest. The place is even better looking than in the photos. We also upgraded to a suite, so we had a double bed and a sofa bed (also double), fully equipped kitchen, 2 TVs, a nice balcony. The breakfast buffet was great - everything fresh and staff were very attentive to refill anything immediately. The little spa area was very modern, clean and relaxing. The town Lam itself has a couple of restaurants to choose from - we always went to Roesslwirt across the street, where you could get Bavarian food, as well as more modern food (including veggie options). It's beneficial to have a care when going there, as we took day trips around the area from Lam to see local sights, e.g. the dragon in Furth im Wald, etc. 10/10 recommend this place.

Offering panoramic views, homelike rooms and free WiFi, this hotel lies in the picturesque Bavarian Forest. It enjoys a peaceful location in the village of Herzogau. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Hikers even get a free footbath and their clothes washed, if needed. The room was modern yet comfortable, with a beautiful valley view from the balcony. The food is good, but especially the large array of breakfast options incl. freshly made egg dishes were lovely to start the next hike. The location is also directly at the Goldsteig trail. Fair price. This has been the place that's been the most accomodating to long-distance hikers on my entire trip thus far!
