Stayed in a private room which was clean and comfortable. As pre-warned walls are literally paper thin but didn’t have any problems with noise from other guests. Host was friendly, spoke great English and gave some good eating and sake recommendations

Amazing host for a fantastic traditional hostel. The room was like expected, the shared bathroom and the kitchen was completely clean. You can wash your clothes for free. Host was helpful in every way imaginable.

The room was large and clean. Our room was the family room with a decent sized playhouse inside where the kids play and even sleep. The building is old, but has been remodeled and is comfortable. The baked goods in the cafe on the 1st floor are delicious, and the cafe is whimsical and charming. There’s a kid’s playroom at the back of the cafe which was great for us, a group with lots of kids. There are also many ceramic wares by local artists for sale. I’d like to visit when the weather is cooler and explore the neighborhood.
