This hotel lies in the heart of Freiburg, directly at the cathedral square. You enter the hotel through the restaurant, small but convenient. Great location right opposite the cathedral. Room small but adequate and very quiet. Not bothered by the church bells. Parking is offsite but convenient. Staff helpful. Would stay here again if we return to Freiburg.

This historic, privately run hotel in Freiburg’s old quarter is located in the heart of the pedestrian area, directly opposite the famous cathedral. It serves delicious regional cuisine. I have to say that this hotel has such an amazing character, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff is incredibly friendly and I felt as if I really was taken care of. Hotel & Restaurant Sichelschmiede is attractively situated in Freiburg im Breisgau, and has a restaurant, free WiFi and a bar. The location is incredible. The staff were welcoming and polite. We loved the look of the hotel and our room as well as the amenities in the suite. The food at the the restaurant was excellent and among the top (traditional) food we ate in Germany. I wish we could have stayed longer!
