Carmel Bay View Inn, hotel in Carmel

Just 1 mile from Pebble Beach and Carmel Mission, Best Western Plus Carmel Bay View Inn is adjacent to exclusive shops and galleries. A seasonal outdoor pool is located on site.

The location, the room and the comfort were all fantastic. This was our first time in the area and Carmel is a beautiful seaside town. The hotel was located right on the edge of the downtown area which provided very easy walking to many restaurants, shops and galleries (we ate at Vesuvio right across the road). There is also a small grocery store and wine retailer right next door which is handy. Parking is onsite and close to the rooms. There is a swimming pool but May was a little early for that. The room itself was beautiful with a very comfortable bed and a spacious bathroom. It was probably the nicest room we stayed in all trip!

The hotel gave us complimentary champagne for our anniversary which was very thoughtful. Also, when we booked our stay, the immediately called me to let me know that they accidentally overbooked their rooms but because it was our anniversary, they upgraded our room to a suite. The hotel is one of the oldest hotels in Carmel By The Sea. The furniture and art decor is beautiful . It's situated In the midst of downtown Carmel where the art galleries and wine tastings are. It is only a few blocks from Clint Eastwood's Hog's Breath restaurant, which we highly recommend.

Carmel is a great beach to visit.

Carmel is a great beach to visit. Very pretty surrounding area, white sandy beach. But water is cold! Carmel in general tends to be very rainy/cloudy. Its not necessarily "lay out and tan" kind of vibes. But more walk the beach, play fetch with your dog, find a good nook to read a book, surf if thats what you're into.

Such a neat little town, some areas look like a fairy village according to my wife. Definitely a art town as there are a lot of art galleries. Overall it is such a cute little town with lots of cool little shops to visit and sights to see.

This is our third time coming to Carmel, and if I win the lotto, I will buy here. It is like nothing else you can experience on the West Coast. There are so many shops, wine tasting, hundreds of wonderful restaurants, and, did I say shopping? We coordinated this trip with a concert at the Sun Set Center. If you can attend a concert there, you will not be let down. It was amazing and within walking distance.

Carmel is a cute, charming seaside town with plenty of shopping and restaurants. Mostly all parking is on-street parallel parking. The Adobe Inn, where we stayed, is located within a block of all the restaurants and shops and even has its own parking garage located below the Inn. At night the town pretty much clears out after 9 or 10, but walking back to the Inn felt safe. The town is also a great base if you are planning on visiting Monterey, 17 Mile Drive, or Big Sur.

The front desk manager, Mike, was one of the loveliest people we have ever met. My six year old daughter went down to get me coffee every morning and she and Mike formed a delightful friendship during our five days there. I am usually very uncomfortable in hotel beds, but my daughter and I both agreed we got some of the best rest of our lives during our stay. Extremely comfy bed! The hotel is elegant and charming, and in the heart of downtown Carmel. We would not hesitate to visit again. Lovely stay, thank you.

We loved our stay at this stunning hotel. Beautiful inside and out, and in the perfect location for exploring Carmel. We could see everything we wanted to by foot, including the beach (just prepare for the climb on the way back up!) and fairytale cottages. The breakfast was delicious, and the wine and nibbles every afternoon was a brilliant touch - we loved it and spent a few hours every day of our stay enjoying the wine in the sunshine. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

First thing if you do get a room in the block of rooms they have such the best view of Carmel River and all the animal life that goes up and down woke up to a blue heron probably 150 ft from my window fishing line on the river I don't know if you ever seen the movie vacation with Chevy Chase will in the beginning of the movie they show they traveled through Big Sur so I could truly say if the griswalts were going through they would have stayed at the River Inn:-)

Beautiful morning view of the ocean as well as sunsets from our balcony! Very quiet hotel, beds were comfy and rooms were very clean. The fireplace was a nice romantic touch too. Within two blocks of the best Carmel has to offer for fine dining, casual dining and everything in between. Lots of cool little shops and breakfast places tucked along the downtown area, very quaint and easy walking from the hotel. Hotel staff was wonderful and helpful!

We really enjoyed our stay at Hofsas. The hotel has a nice old world feel. Its a pleasant 10 mins stroll into Carmel centre and another 5 mind to Sunset beach. We ate at the restaurant across the road, which was good. The balconies at the rear catch the sun in the afternoon and we had a pleasant sit out in late November. The breakfast was perfectly fine. There was plenty of parking, but the streets are pretty quiet if you came at a busy time.

It was a clean, new and super cozy little Hotel. The room was clean and had everything that was needed. Breakfast was okay but Carmel has a bunch of cute places to get a proper one, especially for those who are vegan. The location was close to the city center and just a 15min walk away from the beach. Room adequate, bit crowded with furnishings. Location not the best, at top of hill, limited tight parking if hotel would be full. Breakfast basket more than adequate. Loads of construction all over Carmel, no street parking in town and it was off month of January. Could not imagine how it would be in busier season
