We stayed at this hidden gem with our family of 4 during a rainy period. The hotel and garden are beautiful and clean. The view is amazing. It’s located outside of the city, which we really liked because it was peaceful.
The personnel of this hotel were super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, more than enough food. We had dinner once in the restaurant and recommend to try the Sri Lanka curry.
My oldest son, my husband and I had a very relaxing afternoon getting a spa treatment very good with reasonable price. This place is definitely worth a visit.

If you are traveling from Colombo and back 2for one night stay in Kandy the plan should be 1. Breakfast at Ginadasa Thalaguli restaurant 2. Visit Gadaladeniya Temple 3. Lankathilaka Temple 4. Embakka Devalaya (Temple) 5. Peradeniya Royal Botanical Garden (take the electric car) 6. late Lunch at Royal Mall Peradeniya 7, Strait to your Hotel check in 8. around 4.00 pm You may visit Sandagiri seya (Sthupa at the top of a mountain) 9. Then the Famous Temple of tooth relic (Before 8.00 pm) 10. Dinner at KCC 11, Back to Hotel. Day 02 on your way to Colombo. 12. Tea museum (Enjoy the ice mint tea) and don't forget to buy tea (40% discount) 13. Pinnawala Elephant orphanage (Elephant bath at 2.00 pm) 14. Lunch at Pinnawala 15. Pinnawala zoo (I didn't go) 16. Back to Colombo.

A cultural eye-opener.
A cultural eye-opener. Lots to see and do - but most major attractions are spread far from one another. Expect to take a couple full days touring Kandy and the surrounding areas. Two of my strongest recommendations: the British Was Cemetery. The caretaker has tended the graveyard for decades and knows each detail about each soul laid to rest. Also a sight worth seeing is Peradeniya University. A remarkable campus that lives up to its reputation as one of the nicest in all of South Asia.

The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit.
The botanical gardens was amazing and really value to visit. I didn't interested to see the famous temple and another one important thing is in commuting hours the traffic jam was remarkable and every one should calculate staying in the traffic in their schedule .

Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie.
Transit point to big attractions in Sri Lanka. Ie. Ella, Sigriya, Dambulla and Polonaruwa. Gateway to mountainous region of Sri Lanka. Kandy is also a historical town with famous Temple of Tooth. This town is best served with affordable eateries and several modes of transportation. Cooler weather compared to the Sri Lankan capital city, Colombo.
The location is quite close to the main Kandy town. Easy walk. The steepest portion is from the main road to the hotel, about 2 minutes. The entire walk uphill from town was 15 minutes at a leisurely pace. We stayed four nights, four breakfasts. The first two breakfasts were omlette, toast, pancakes and fruits with coffee. Then we had a buffet style breakfasts with local Sri Lankan dishes, which were very good. It also offered toast, pancakes. The staff who looked after the breakfast, Bob, was very helpful and attentive but not intrusive.
Very nice new hotel very close to the Kandy lake and to the city center. From the Kandy station it is possible to reach the hotel with a 20/25 minutes walk or with a short ride in a tuk tuk.
The rooms are quite big and provides all the necessary amenities. Bonus point for the shower with very nice pressure and very hot water (this was an exception considering the other hotel where we stayed during our trip in Sri Lanka).
The staff of the hotel has been very available to help us during our stay and to organise the next stage of our trip.
This is the best place we have stayed in Sri Lanka! Nestled away in the hills of Kandy, it’s such a peaceful escape from the city. For the price, the room is absolutely huge with a beautiful balcony also. The views from the property are stunning. The host was extremely friendly & welcoming, always asking us if we would like tea & bringing us snacks throughout the day.
We ordered food in one night because it’s around a 30 minute walk to town. Perfect place if you want a mix between city & nature for your stay in Kandy :)
That was the best place we stayed in during our trip in Sri Lanka. Hosts are extremly nice, helpful and hospitable. Breakfasts are simply delicious, they even prepared the breakfast boxes with our favorites pancakes when we were leaving early morning to Ella. Nice and quiet area, great view from the terrace above. Spacious and very clean rooms with small kitchen inside. We really enjoyed our stay at Remli Villa and we will definately be back if we are in Kandy in the future. Thank you guys! Wish you all the best :)
We had an amazing stay in Galaxy City hotel. The rooms are very clean, spacious and fully equipped. The property sits at a great location, a quiet area with a wonderful view from the balcony yet within walking distance from the city center (around 800 meters). But what makes the place stand out, is the people who work there: both the manager and the staff are extremely professional and incredibly friendly and helpful. All in all, Galaxy hotel is a great choice for a stay in Kandy, highly recommended!
I’ve been to so many budget hotels and homestays all around south and Southeast Asia and countless places in Sri Lanka and this is the best bang for the buck homestay out of all. Amazingly kind and helpful hosts and staff, hygiene and cleanliness at is best with a common kitchen area with new clean utensils, provided with clean linen and toiletries with hot water. And the view is phenomenal. When ever I’m visiting Kandy I’m definitely coming here. Thank you Mountain View Homestay for your amazing service.
Outstanding views over Kandy from my suite, extremely welcoming staff and delicious food. Thank you to Ajith W. and the team there for an amazing stay, always willing to understand the customer needs and making sure they can provide the best service at the hotel. I had the pleasure to meet the chef for a cooking experience, really worth trying! I also got a list of ingredients to be able to cook the most delicious sri lankan curry! I can not wait to go back again. Thank you
It was one of our best accommadations in Sri Lanka. We were able to enjoy the impressive view in the suite from both the bedroom and bathroom thanks to the large panoramic windows. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. They gave us a lot of tips. The breakfest and the dinner was very delicious. We can also reccomend a tuk tuk tour, which the hotel offers. We had two exciting and relaxing days in Kandy.
This is a very nice hotel with the best breakfast!
The couple that runs the hotel and their staff are extremely helpful with planning, booking anything you need and organizing transfers. They didn't add a commission for themselves or anything! They are wonderful people with a beautiful space in Kandy.
I highly suggest staying here if you want a clean, comfortable and quiet stay in Kandy with amazing staff.
the property is nicely located in a very calm residential area, it’s spacious, modern, clean and the rooms are a good size! it is more like a small hotel than a house. they accepted to cook us dinner and it was delicious (various choices in their menu) and breakfast was excellent! we wished we could have stayed more in Kandy at the Rivora residence. staff was exceptional!
This place has lots of character, the inner yard is beautiful and peaceful. Little oasis in the hustle and bustle of Kandy town.
Super friendly staff! We really enjoyed breakfast at the hotel restaurant and definitely recommend dinner at the traditional sri lankan restaurant downstairs for those who are more adventurous for some local "spicy" food.
Everything in Veraima is fabulous. This is our best stay at Sri Lanka. The owners hospitality is outstanding, information they gave you are precious. Good breakfast, great pool, great big rooms.
They will arrange a tuk-tuk driver if you need, for very good price. Choose Veraima for your next stay in Kandy and satisfaction is guaranteed.
The location as it’s away from the town, and offered a magnificent view of Kandy.
Town was walking distance, and the hotel offered adviced on get transportation to its location.
Room was spacious, bed was comfortable, shower’s water pressure with hot water.
An outdoor balcony that had a magnificent view of the sunrise.
The word that comes to mind is classy. Beautifully appointed comfortable room. Impeccably clean. The balcony has a view of the garden and surrounding hills. Wifi was the best we had in Sri Lanka. Good location within walking distance to town and a few temples. Gracious and helpful hosts.Look no further!
The hotel is very close to the Centre! Rooms are large and beautiful and shower is really great! The staff are really amazing!! Nothing is too much trouble for them.
Breakfast was one of the best western breakfasts ever in Sri Lanka. I would recommend this place to anyone going to Kandy.
Excellent hotel! All new and the view is fantastic, it overlooks the lake and Kandy town but is a very quick 10mins walk into town. The rooms are super comfortable and the pool is great! We stayed four nights and the breakfast is amazing. The staff are all very friendly and helpful.
Jaye's homestay features cozy rooms with great view on Kandy town. The host is very helpful with advice and even lended us some utencils. You get option of Sri lankan and english breakfast and I recommend to take the Sri Lankan because it is delicious. with a lot of local fruit
Best view in Kandy! Room was clean, breakfast and dinner were delicious, hot water in the shower.
Ranjith the owner of the hotel was super nice and did his best to make us happy and comfortable.
super clean and amazing hotel.. it’s in a good location 5 mins walk to the Kandy lake..
break fast was good I have tried the Sri Lankan breakfast and very big portion.
