The most beautiful accommodation I have been to in Iceland. You can find books about puffins, relief, flora and fauna of Iceland. There are also games and multiple paintings with birds. It does not seem to be an accommodation, but a home in which the owners have put their soul. the location is gorgeous, it reminds me of the Lofoten islands. unfortunately it is not open in winter because there is a risk of avalanche, but you can catch the snow, as we did in the first days of October. I love the simplicity and Nordic influences of this place!
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region.
The idea base camp for time spent in the Westfjords region. If you have a rental car, you can drive anywhere else you'd like to see, but Ísafjörður has the most options for town activities. The location in the fjord is incredible. I would visit again.

This town is wonderful and quaint.
This town is wonderful and quaint. The setting is stunning, with mountains surrounding the entire town. The people there are very friendly, and it is easy to walk around. The streets have beautiful flower plantings, and there is a fun nughtclub where you can meet local townspeople. We highly recommend it!

Stayed two nights in this gem of a town.
Stayed two nights in this gem of a town. First night we camped and it was a fantastic campground. Second night was calling for snow so stayed in the hostel. Best Bonus grocery store we have seen with prices much less than anywhere else in Iceland.

Interesting in itself; however, you need a car to explore the area. Side roads, not too difficult, lead to many beautiful sights. I probably said "Wow" more in the few days in Westfjords than any other time.

The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall...
The drive to Isafjorour we stopped at Dynjandi Waterfall called Thundering Waterfall. It is actually several waterfalls topped by a bridal veil large fall. Well worth the steep hike up. One of the most beautiful waterfall we visited in Iceland. The drive back toward Reykjavik was stunning along five fjords and many waterfalls. Glacier views. Lava fields. And mountains. So wanted to eat at Tjoruhusid. But needed a reservation and could not get in. Recommend making a reservation before you leave home. A perfect ending to our trip to the Westfjords.

Our location was in the center of the historic district,...
Our location was in the center of the historic district, which made it easy for walking to everything. I enjoyed the architecture of the colorful houses in the Old Town neighborhood, The Heritage Museum, and getting fresh seafood from Fiskbud Sjavarfangs, the market down by the harbor. My daughter took a boat tour to Hornstrandir Peninsula for a day, but the weather was not conducive for outdoor activities during our stay so that curtailed the activities that we were interested in doing. We had two delicious fish dinners at Husid and an amazing buffet dinner at Tjoruhusid, which is in an historic log building down by the Heritage Museum. You have to make reservations ahead and they have 2 seatings for dinner. I have never seen such a huge variety of delicious soup, seafood, salads and desserts. Isafjordur is a charming little historic town with so many outdoor activity choices for all ages, fun shopping for handcrafted items and great fresh seafood.
The owner was extremely kind, helpful, and accommodating. He helped us find a dinner restaurant at 9:00 pm, book the airport shuttle, and with basically anything else we needed! The room was large, clean, and very comfortable. Also, quiet! There was a fridge and microwave in the room, as well as supplies for making tea/coffee. Great location, easy to walk into downtown Isafjordur, close to gas station and supermarket. Highly recommended.
We had Sólheimar Studio Apartment B. It was just as we expected - cozy, clean, comfortable and convenient. Sigridur was kind and helpful, providing advice on where to eat and what to see. Isafjordur is a special place that is hard to reach. If you are lucky enough to travel there, then you will find the Sólheimar Studio Apartment a great place to stay as you explore the area.
Very nice spacious and clean bungalow, right in the centre. The owners offer a private horse tour wish is really fun! Modern cottage with new utilities. Also private parking, everything is very well explained. Thank you for excellent stay and recommendation for best fish restaurant in Iceland !!!
Perfect location. Walk to town, beach, shopping, bakery, restaurants, kayaking. Quiet neighborhood, lovely old home with very helpful owners. Great value. Highly recommend. It says"apartment," but is actually a 3 floor duplex with washer AND dryer in basement. Full sized fridge.
Everything was great. The room was big and spacious, the bathroom was big also. Breakfast was very good and had everything you would need. The receptionist was kind and helpful and guided us to some good restaurants in town. We had a great stay in Isafjordur.
Excellent location in the heart of Ísafjörður, just a few minutes walk from everywhere in the town. The guesthouse is an old building that is full of charm. Rooms are basic but comfortable and there is a pleasant seating area where guests can read and relax.
I originally booked a guesthouse room but was upgraded to a hotel room with a private bath. It is a great location near the city center. The breakfast buffet was very nice. The staff were friendly and helped me get to the airport shuttle on time.
The Hotel Owner and Karina were exceptional.
I have to say I stayed 4 nights and it was amazing .
The room was so comfortable Breakfast was excellent with fresh Homemade Bread daily.
The Bed was new and so Comfortable I slept like a log.
Good location, grocery store nearby, gotta take keys from the hotel. Small..ish dorms but good. Big kitchen and living space. Just bring your sleeping bag. Perfect place to stay to explore Isafjordur, pre or post Hornstrandir.
Location was superb. The drive to this town was delightful. Plenty of options if you want to dine out. Sushi truck just outside the hotel. View was outstanding. Room was nice. Easy check in. Breakfast was standard.
This cozy little house was a great find in Isafjordur. It is the perfect size and my daughters loved the loft bedroom. Everything is up to date and very clean. If it’s available, don’t pass it up!
Tiny and extremely cozy place, that makes you regret staying for so short. Our host was friendly, hospitable and helpful. Area is quiet but few minutes away from the port and all the restaurants.
Hostel at a quiet place of a small walkable town. The hostel is not staffed and check in is at a nearby Hotel Isafjordur, but everything worked. The kitchen is equipped and the bathroom was ok.
Property is in excellent condition. Decoration style awasome. Amenities all you could need. Best place to stay within our one month tour around Iceland.
