Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place.
Hot in April. Never been in such a hot, humid place. Would go outside, do whatever I went out to do then back inside to lie under the fan. Heat rash turned to bumps and cuts. Light, cotton kurta would be wet by the time I returned.
Ayurvedic massage, a coffee shop, walk to the beach, buy clothes. There are things to do if you look. In an ancient spice trading Capitol, breakfast was varied, then it was too hot to eat.

A very classy nice restaurant.
A very classy nice restaurant. A warm welcoming, followed by an excellent service, with a lot of attention to details on order to please you.
I took at first a tartare, the beef was excellent. With that I took a glass of the local red wine. Somewhat surprising, it does not taste like anything I have already drunk, but I kinda liked it.
Then I took a marbled steak with homemade French fries and homemade ketchup (!). No word to say that it was awesome.
The service always with a smile and very patient with us.

My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of...
My recent visit to Cochin, Kerala was nothing short of magical. From the moment I arrived, I was captivated by the beauty and charm of this historic city.
Exploring the streets of Fort Kochi was like stepping back in time, with its colonial architecture, bustling markets, and vibrant culture. The Chinese fishing nets along the waterfront were a sight to behold, especially during sunset when the sky was painted in hues of orange and pink.
One of the highlights of my trip was visiting the Mattancherry Palace, also known as the Dutch Palace. The intricate artwork and historical artifacts inside were truly impressive, offering a glimpse into Kerala's rich heritage.
I also had the pleasure of indulging in some of the most delicious seafood dishes I've ever tasted. Whether it was fresh fish curry at a local eatery or a traditional Kerala thali at a family-run restaurant, each meal was a culinary delight.
The warmth and hospitality of the people of Cochin further enhanced my experience. From the friendly smiles of shopkeepers to the helpful advice of locals, I felt welcomed and at home throughout my stay.
Overall, my time in Cochin, Kerala was an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty, culture, and flavors of southern India.

Beautiful mix of heritage, historical and modernised places all around. At least a 3 day trip to experience all faces of city and satisfy your taste buds.
Great for people looking to experience beach life, back waters and some good resorts and food.
Only thing to be considered is the weather while travelling and trip to pre planned.
Staying in Fort Cochin was a delightful experience. The charm of the historic surroundings combined with the modern amenities provided a perfect balance. The room was clean, well-maintained, and the breakfast tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant stay. The central location allowed easy exploration of the city’s heritage sites and vibrant markets. I highly recommend this accommodation for anyone seeking a memorable and authentic stay in the heart of Cochin’s old center.
We had booked 2 rooms via booking.com and due to some technical glitch our bookings didn't entirely transfer over to the property. Manager Dushyantha Shetty went out of his way to accommodate our family. He gave us a suite and free breakfast to compensate for the glitch caused by booking.com. I noticed the entire staff at Ginger Kochi took customer satisfaction to their hearts and ensured the guests were happy. I would certainly book at Ginger Kochi next time when we're at Cochin.
we thought that it is a 4 star hotel as mentioned in booking.com but unfortunately it is a not even an hotel apartment which can give a star rating. I have made the booking through booking.com when i reached the place from the airport directly @ 4am in the morning, it really break my heart totally untidy more you cant even sleep for 1 hour because of the noise in kitchen and people shouting, when complianed to receitption they said sorry. finally i have changed to holiday inn
Everything was the best. The property is nice, well maintained, but due to one person it makes it special. That is Sanitha. She will make you feel like long time friend. She is the heart and the soul of the hotel. Been many times in India, but its hard to say I met such a person trying to do so much effort for me. She arranged everything, she was making sure we are ok all the time, even when we left the property. If I ever again come back, it would be same, due to her.
We were delighted to find that our accommodation was in the heart of Fort Cochin and it was perfectly placed for easy travel in and around Cochin itself.
The hotel room and bathroom were excellent...very good size and very clean with plenty of hot water for showers.
The family team running the hotel were most helpful and all requests were dealt with efficiently and without fuss.
We were made to feel very welcomed and our room was most comfortable.
The property is well located and the rooms are well equipped. The attached restaurant is fabulous and serves scrumptious North Indian fare. The location is the real star here though - you’re literally a walk away from every possible destination and there’s great Uber connectivity in case you want to travel somewhere further away. This is, in our experience, probably the best experience you can have on a budget in the area.
This is the Best homestay during my trip in India. Great location in a quiet small alley but close from all shops, restaurants, sea and interesting sites of Fort Cochin. Comfortable large room with fan. Great WiFi Great rooftop. But The Best was Charlotte and her family.. so friendly. I had a great evening talking with them. I wish i could have stayed longer
A home away from home,
Best budget hotel in whole ernakulam.
Best staff, so professional,a real shout out to Mr. Anandhu and Mr Ajmal.They. It really made my 5 days stay more comfortable. It's near metro, railway station and restaurant.. i am saying again, best budget hotel, .. at this price , it's money worth
Good hotel with quick access from airport. We reached hotel from airport within few minutes . Best thing is that we were not disturbed by honking of vehicles in night, and hence we had a good silent sleep in night. Also they have round the clock airport shuttle at reasonable prices. Aircon worked well.
The room is super clean and spacious, the mattress super confortable, and the family owner are all really nice and helpful.
The breakfast were cheap and delicious.
The location is very good too, that was by far the best hotel/homestay we have been in India.
So great that we book another night again
Perfectly located hotel, across from a park, in a historic building. All staff were extra-accommodating. We had the Bastion suite overlooking the pool and the park across the street.
Will definitely stay here the next time we're in Ft. Cochin.
The hotel itself is really beautiful and the grounds well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. It is conveniently located in the heart of Fort Cochin with lots of shops, cafes and restaurants nearby.
This was by far the best stay in India during my 2 months travelling. The place is clean and very quiet, hotel manager is super helpful and polite, location is in the center. Hopefully can visit this place soon again.
Great hotel. Very good value for money. Very clean. Extensive breakfast buffet. Good location near metro, main railway station and easy access to Fort Cochin via Water Metro. Would absolutely recommend.
Location: The Ginger Hotel on MG Road in Kochi is conveniently situated, offering easy access to the city's attractions. It's a great base for exploring Kochi's landmarks.
Lovely quiet countryside hotel 15 minutes from Cochin airport. Huge room, comfy beds and the best shower(hot water runs immediately). The garden and pool are great too
