We had an absolutely lovely stay here. The location was quiet and peaceful, and the hosts gave us a very warm and kind welcome when we arrived, even offering to tumble dry our wet clothes for us! The room and en-suite were well equipped and had everything you need to make you comfortable, as well as being very clean. We had a great night's sleep followed by a delicious breakfast, setting us up well for the day ahead. We only stayed one night, but would definitely come here again if we were to return to the area.

Whiston Hall is set in scenic Staffordshire countryside, just a 10-minute drive from Alton Towers. The 19th-century hotel has a leafy golf course, a modern bar area and elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi.

Food was good, portion sizes good. Service a little fast if anything! Value for money and even a round of golf in the price. Unfortunately weather and a competition meant that we didn’t have time to use the course. Looked challenging!

Rooms are very comfortable, clean and warm. Very good position if you are going to alton towers Park. The view is amazing. Very nice pub with good choice of food.

Listing caught my attention due to the great score which is fully deserved. Abbey is a wonderful host, very organised and had provided very clear instructions regarding check in/out and also provided lots of great advice for local restaurants and other services. Also a very lovely and welcoming person and really could not do more to make the stay enjoyable. The room itself was very spacious and immaculately clean with a good sized private en suite shower/toilet. Best night's sleep I have had in a long time! Other reviews mention road noise but I did not notice this with the windows open and even if closed, there was a fan in the room to provide cooling.
