I suggest changing the breakfast menu, if not daily, as it is not suitable for guests who are staying for an extended period of time to have the same breakfast options.

A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernising at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and offers fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.
This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.
With a choice of shopping centres and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.
Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.
Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.

Exciting, vibrant, safe, advance and modern city - the roads and streets are clean.
Public transportation is efficient and fast.
Food is good, many eating places.
A little downside though, allow me to be candid, to some small extend, economic success of this place may have overrun the personal etiquette of the public members at large, especially the older generation (by observation) - the way they drive, smoke, jumping queue, and spitting in public.
Notwithstanding, the people are generally not unfriendly and will be helpful when asked.

Transport into Shanghai from Airport
Catch Maglev fast train and/or Metro from the airport. Signage clear and buying a ticket very easy with Alipay which you can preload before arrival in China (in NZ anyway). Always a person to help near where tickets are bought. BUT beware Maglev around 9:30 and metro 11pm, then only bus or taxi and bus difficult to workout without language. Stay near the Bund - perfect spot for people watching on the weekend.
Walking around Shanghai safe and fascinating, metro very easy to navigate and although language a challenge everyone very helpful and good humoured.
Nanjing Road amazing, especially at night, even for someone who doesn't like shopping!
Plenty of places to eat and all prices but found street food by far the best.
Thought it might be touristy (and it was) but Zhujiajiao water town worth the trip. Easy to get to by train for an afternoon. You can find a quiet spot to sit and sip tea on a balcony over the river.

It is a unique city, and Bund area is excellent.
It is a unique city, and Bund area is excellent. Unusual buildings to visit and see. I felt very safe there. If you want clothes made go to the South Bund Fabric Market, 3991 Lujiabang Road, 1F 198#....try mobile number 13917936395 ......she was terrific and made and delivered my clothes on time. Well made and a wide range of fabrics. The fabric market is a large place with heaps of fabrics and clothes can be made in a day or two. Lots of tailors on hand to check out. Bargain hard.

Shanghai is still relatively prosperous.Yeah, yeah, it's very safe. There are many policemen, but no thieves. And there was no robbery.Well, you can come out in the middle of the night.Well, people are veryYeah, but it's also very leisurely.More comfortable.
My stay at Tiancheng hotel was superb. The staff at the hotel are very accommodating to guest requests and try their best to get you in the room before check in time. I was able to check in at noon which allowed me to spend the whole day exploring. The manager at the hotel is one of the kindest and most hospitable I’ve met, greeting me and my family at the reception and making sure our stay was enjoyable. Highly recommend if you’re looking for comfort and convenient location.
The location is great. The hotel is next to a subway hub served by 4 lines, which go to to key locations like Lujiazui, Nanjing Road, People's Square, Xujiahui, Quiantan, and Pudong & Hongqiao Airports. There are many restaurants right outside the hotel.
Shanghai has an extensive subway system. If you intend to rely on the subway, this hotel is a good option.
Our room has a great view of Shanghai's skyscrapers.
The hotel is in the most interesting and busy area of Shanghai. Both the concierge part and the reception part are 10. Very humane and close treatment. One of the best hotels without a doubt. 100% recommended. In the face of any slight inconvenience they are here to help, even with personal means. The Chinese are special. My greatest respects. Special greetings to Liam, Amy, Yu and Sophie.
The location is great right down in the French concession probably the best area to live and get a feel about this city.
The breakfast was disappointing overpriced at a whooping 180 yuans and 99% Chinese. Not only the food selection is limited but the staff at the restaurant is unfriendly like the 'chef' who refused arms crossed to do an egg sunny side up.
It is almost absurd at times
The hotel is located in a very nice and central location of Shanghai. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is crystal clean and the room I had was big, well decorated, with a comfortable bed. Very near to a metro station and in a fun, nice part of Shanghai. Great for business in Pudong or for visiting the historical part of the city.
I wanted to book a hotel that was close to the Pudong Airport so that it would be easier to catch my connecting flight back to Europe on the next day. The JOYFUL YARD hotel exceeded my expectations. It was nice, clean, and had everything I needed. The shuttle bus service was really convenient. The hotel staff was very nice too.
Hotel is nicely located in Bund, 3 minutes walk from metro station which is very convinient, if you want to get quickly to the Pudong Airport. Room very clean, comfortable and amazing beds. Cleaned everyday, got everything you need. Nice hotel and neighborhood. Highly recommended.
Grandious arhitecture, five star location, stouning view, nice interiour design, grate antreprenorial execution, nice people at the reception and restaurant, nice SPA with amasing view fom the 30 level. Everithing is gaven for this hotel to be the best, except management!
First and best thing is the location, right in the heart of Shanghai, close to metro stations and the Bund. The staff is super friendly and helpful. My room was upgraded to a bigger one, so it was amazingly comfortable. Soundproof, good minibar, big and soft bed.
This is my goto hotel for a layover in shanghai. Staff is amazing. On my last checkin, Amelia Yan and Lucy Ni went above and beyond to make things super smooth. Early checkin, great room, and zero complaints. I will be back on my next trip over!
I wish I would have stayed there at least one more night: BEST breakfast in a restaurant EVER, really comfy rooms, great way to end Shanghai if you leave Disneyland for the day before your flight back home. Has so many activities in the Hotel.
Very good business hotel. Modern interior in the quite spacious standard rooms. Big swimming pool. Good location to get to both airports and to bars and restaurants at the western end of the French concession.
Location to the airport very easy, in the suburbs, so very quiet, next to Century Park so great for a walk. Subway underneath the hotel, also very easy to get to Pudong or the centre of Shanghai
The room is large and modern with a very comfortable bed. The hotel was very close to Pudong airport which made it very convenient to stay the one night there.
Staffs are very nice and the rooms are very spacious. This feels like one of the best in-city hotels we have stayed in; and the price is very reasonable.
