We chose to stay at Toronto Airport for 2 nights, rather than downtown. It is much less expensive and you can delay picking up a rental car and save on downtown parking costs which are very expensive. The Alt is located at the Link light rail station. You catch the Link to Terminal 1, then take the UP Union Pearson train to Union Station. So easy. We then collected our Hertz rental car from Terminal 1 the following day. The hotel is superb. Compact but brilliantly designed room and ensuite. Modern, clean and comfortable. Lovely view over airport but perfectly insulated. No noise. Efficient friendly staff. Simple but excellent bistro provides inexpensive and adequate light meals.

Located in Mississauga, 12 km from Mississauga Convention Centre, Element Toronto Airport provides accommodation with free bikes, private parking, a fitness centre and a garden. Breakfast was way better than expected for an airport hotel. The room was very spacious and had a small but well-stocked kitchenette. The hotel was so close to the terminal we could have walked there if we did not have large suitcases. And our request for a late check-out for our evening flight was met!
