Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

CanadaThere wasn't really anything to point out negative. Toronto is a pricey city to visit. I can't complain about the high price of hotels, as this was the more affordable hotel downtown.
This hotel is on my top 10 hotels list. I was pleasantly surprised at every turn. It's in a great location. The staff were 5 star. Any help I needed, they were there with a smile. The rooms were clean and spacious. They had all the amenities and more. The room design in the tower was not your contemporary rectangle set up. It was open and felt more like home, with multiple views of the city.

It's conveniently located outside of the subway station and close to streetcar stops. The staff is friendly and helpful - really like the ability to text the concierge. Also, the building is absolutely stunning. The suite was spacious and had great views. The kitchenette came equipped with things needed.

SurinameI wasn't able to use the fitness, sauna and spa. That would have been awsome. They have to recommend it at check in. Then you can plan it into your schedule. Bit of an awkward setup of the rooms. But in total we had a comfortable stay.
A lot of things were close by. Walking distance to Eaton centre, trainstation , the bank , supermarket Metro. Guestservice was helpful if we needed anything aspecially our first morning getting organized.

FranceThe breakfast options for hotel guests were a little confusing. It was not obvious before ordering that the breakfast, especially cooked elements would be brought to us in the lobby. In the end the food was good and well presented and we would have used the breakfast option more if we had realised how the system works. Looking at the cafe initially it was a bit off-putting for a 4 star quality hotel.
The room was quiet, large and well equipped. The beds were particularly comfortable and room service was efficient.

United KingdomBooked a ‘historic superior suite’ was v underwhelmed by first impression. Room not as big as expected. Old fashioned decor, bathroom v small, no bath despite ref pics on website having a bath. Kitchen bin drawer broken, only two tea bags provided and no proper milk.
