Hotel in Walmer, Port Elizabeth
Located in Port Elizabeth, 2.1 miles from Walmer Country Club, Nova Boutique Hotel, spa and conference venue has accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness center... The rooms were incredible, each room has a theme related to a constellation, I personally thought that was genius! The rooms were well equipped and spacious, by the way the coffee available in the room is amazing (and Netflix was available). Staff were beyond anything we had anticipated, Justice was so kind to us from checkin to checkout, he even went as far as to booking a restaurant dinner on our behalf. The other lady even offered me a longer towel while I was using their swimming pool, so I wouldn't burn my feet (that's how far they go in terms of kindness and excellence). The owners are also incredible, extremely friendly and approachable. Breakfast was served in the premises and it is amazing, they offer a great variety of items. Location, it is close to the airport, not much around the area in terms of restaurants/shops, but it is a very quiet street which made sleep quality great. The swimming pool area was unfinished but nonetheless, the pool itself was tidy and ready to use. Overall, this hotel is in my top 5 hotels (seriously).
Hotel in Jeffreys Bay
Located in Loerie, 33 mi from Port Elizabeth, Intle Game Lodge features a seasonal outdoor pool and views of the sea. Jeffreys Bay is 17 mi from the property. Free private parking is available on... This place is spectacular! I arrived as a solo traveler but I'm already planning to return with my husband and friends next time. The staff go above and beyond – from welcoming you with a drink to offering advice for a walk. The staff clearly like to make their guests happy and they were so fun to talk with! Dinner was exceptional; it was the best meal I had in South Africa. The menu has many courses and options to choose from. The kitchen accommodated by dietary restrictions without question – thank you! I highly recommend going for a late afternoon/dusk stroll and sunrise walk. It is safe; the animals keep a healthy distance. I saw impalas, blue wilderbeest, giraffes, and zebras on my walks. There is a great 5km roundtrip walk to a viewing platform on the back of the property - amazing views of the river and valley area at sunset. At sunrise, most of the animals were gathered on the front lawn. Other things you can do on the property: Take a dip in the infinity pool, sun bathe on the deck, request a drive of the property if you don't prefer to walk, read some books (they have many on wildlife and the history and culture of SA), sit by the fire, enjoy the cigar lounge, order a drink at the bar (it seems to have everything and you can ask for a drink anytime) and sit outside by the firepit. I wish I stayed for several more days to do it all!
Hotel in Kenton on Sea
The House Quarters is set in Kenton on Sea, off Route 72, 14 mi from Port Alfred. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. I was travelling with my girlfriend to Kenton on the Sea for a little getaway and some more. Kenton on the sea is a little gem within Eastern Cape and if you stay at the House Quarter, I can guarantee that your travel experience will be perfect. The rooms are super clean, modern, lots of space, fresh scent and all the appliances that you need. Also the power back up was excellent with no break ups in electricity. The mega bonus I must say, the reception lady upgraded us to the largest room (suite). We did not need the additional room with two beds as we were only 2 guests but still, it was very nice to have so much space. The views are amazing too. I would definitely come again. A big plus is also the shopping options with Spar closeby as well as the SPA, in case weather is not great. Thanks again for the upgrade. After being 8 years with my girlfriend, I ve proposed at the beach that evening after check-in. So we will never forget the House Quarters and definitely have to come back where memories have been built.

The drive through the Eastern Cape is unbelievable for scenery, but one must be careful of goats, dogs, cows and sheep, both dead and alive on the roads!!! Eastern Cape Town itself has a lot of churches for a tiny city that it is, but some really beautiful ones too, The Catholic Cathedral was excellent for photos.
Very handy for the game reserves of the Eastern Cape. Roads are very good indeed. Don't miss out on the old part of the city such wonderful street art..
This was our second stay at the Happy Jackal. The name is just so appropriate as we have always been happy there. Its quite impossible not to be happy in the company of the most charming hosts, Peter and Liz who have not changed one bit since our first visit in September 2012. We must admit that we are guilty of spending every opportunity inside Addo as we just cannot get enough of the wild life. We should probably have spent more time exploring the dunes and the other attractions and I guess its a good enough reason for another visit as soon as that is possible. We did have dinner at the Elephant Footprint and it was an equally enjoyable experience as everything on the menu was so well prepared and tasty. Sometimes Cape Town just seems too far from the Eastern Cape as we love it so much. Till next time......... Noel & Delia Furlong
We only overnighted in East London on our way further inland, but the streets were badly littered when we arrived, creating a poor first impression. When we returned to the airport the next day, some of the mess had been cleaned up. It may have been the result of some sort of protest action. The airport was a bit disappointing as one of the two restaurants was closed for refurbishing and we had to eat our long-anticipated late breakfast on our laps at the other restaurant as there was not sufficient seating. Nevertheless, people were very friendly and we still left with good memories of the Eastern Cape in general.
Everything was lovely - airport, car hire, beaches, restaurants and a good staging post for going to other spots in the Eastern Cape - especially game and hunting. It is known as the friendly city and I found it so, apart from one mini bus taxii driver not heeding elderly people crossing on a pedestrian way (the light was red for the pedestrians but it was not working!).
Eastern Capes best kept secret! Value for money.. You can't beat it. The buffet dinner and breakfast is exceptional. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff very obliging. Wonderful experience soon to be repeated!
Great location to stay enroute from Western or Eastern Cape provinces to Lesotho or Clarens. Restaurant options for dinner in Queenstown somewhat limited.
A good stop off if driving long distance from the Eastern Cape to KwaZulu Natal.

My wife and I travelled along this route from KZN and then driving on some very bad roads in the Eastern Cape and seeing the poverty in Mount Fletcher, we were really surprised to come across this beautiful oasis. I booked when I saw the picture, but some organisations do not advertise correctly. We loved the friendly staff and the service that we received and the breakfast in the morning was very good. The room was lovely and comfortable and spotless.
Staff very friendly, breakfast excellent with managers ensuring being well taken of. Rooms very clean. Your service is so excellent. Give praise to God for the man tthat was obedient to God, Dr Andre who built Faith Dome. Bcos of Him your hotel will always be full of ppl who are hungry for God and prosperity is your portion in Eastern Cape . Will see you every year in June bcos we cant settle for less, yours is the best
Home-cooked meals prepared with quality ingredients and cooked to perfection! Amazing ambience and rich historical background of the buildings on the property. The 3-hour guided Day Safari is an absolute MUST HAVE! I won't visit the Eastern Cape again without a stop at any of the Amakhala properties in the future
