Aldea Elvira's lagoon dock setup is true paradise. We loved biking through the jungle to get there with the bikes provided and spent as much time as possible there during our stay. The water is some of the best we've every swam in and we loved having it mostly to ourselves for a quiet reset. Something to note about the accommodation is that there is no fridge available for guest use. There is a great restaurant onsite but it's not always open so if you need food in between meals be sure to bring things that don't need to be refrigerated. We slept extremely well in our cabin. It stayed pretty cool at night without AC and the bed was really comfortable. We enjoyed talking to other guests from around the world in the common areas. The shared bathroom was clean. Buenavista is a tiny town with friendly residents that we really loved. There isn't much in terms of restaurants and shops but we appreciated the local bodega for cold cervezas. We had a rental car and visited Bacalar once which was nice but we really enjoyed staying in the quiet paradise of Buenavista for most of our time there. This isn't for someone looking for nightlife, a perfectly maintained tourist zone, or a resort setting. We enjoy camping so the elevated rustic style of glamping was a great fit for us.

The owner Flor was easy to reach on WhatsApp, helped us find the best restaurants in town and booked a taxi to the bus station for us. As we don't speak Spanish, this was extremely helpful for us. Also, she is an extremely warm and welcoming woman.

Huge, super comfortable beds, outdoor shower (with infrared light to not attract mosquitoes) but indoor toilet, the most comfortable hammock i've experienced, and a 'private' garden. Amazing calm music at reception and the restaurant. Loved staying here. All the staff were very friendly. Top ups of flavoured water (cucumber/orange infused). And within a 2-3 mins walk you have an almost private entrance to the incredible lake, where you can rent SUPs or canoes. Will definitely return.

Il personale è incredibilmente cordiale e disponibile, si prendevano sempre cura di noi. La gastronomia è incredibile, lo Chef ci ha coccolati in ogni momento. Non puoi perdertelo.

Siamo direttamente su una bellissima spiaggia con sabbia bianca, deserta e contornata da Palme che arrivano quasi dentro al mare. (unica pecca la spazzatura vomitata dall'oceano, che non dipende da loro e che cercano di tenere pulito almeno per la parte di pertinenza). Lucio è stato meraviglioso, sempre disponibile ed attento alle nostre esigenze, quasi un personal concierge. Nel club si mangia e beve benissimo ed alla sera, i pochi turisti che visitano la struttura, lasciano tutta la location per voi e mangiare sotto le stelle in piena pace sarà un vero privilegio.
