We loved everything about this hotel!! New spacious room with modern bathroom and lovely private patio; excellent pool to cool off after morning safari or before evening one; very friendly and helpful manager who was always smiling and sharing info about elephants with us over meals; very good food (really liked the rice and curry!) which we weren’t necessarily expecting from a hotel restaurant. And the best part: seeing elephants across the road in park during breakfast l!! Side note: be careful about where you book in this area. The hotel we originally booked canceled on us day of when they found out we’d booked a safari through someone else (not them). We were lucky to find this current hotel who said it was our decision to book safari with them or not (although I’m sure their safaris are good too!).

Vimanra hotel is by far one of the most beautiful places you can find in udawalawe. Its a small family-run hotel located in a lush and green forest, next to a lake. It was amazing to wake up to the sound of birds and taking a dip in the (very clean) swimming pool. The garden is full of plants and fruit trees such as mangos, papayas and pineapple. There's even a small lake filled with fish. The owners are very very kind and helpful. They booked a safari for us and even made us a very, very good dinner on the day that all shops and restaurants were closed. You'll feel immediately at home and at peace in this place. The family room is huge and the bathroom is very big! Shower and toilet are separated which is very convenient for a group of 3 or 4. If you've been in busy Kandy or galle, then this is the perfect place to calm down and enjoy the beautiful lush nature of Sri Lanka . And not to forget: the beds were very comfy and the rooms have airconditioning

Situated in Udawalawe, 14 km from Udawalawe National Park, Wild Life Safari Bungalow features accommodation with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. We loved the homestay and were really welcomed by the owner and his family. It's a great place to stay for 2 nights to feel relaxed while on the road. We had the best driver for our 8 hour safari and enjoyed breakfast, lunch and home cooked Sri Lankan dinner. . A short visit to the nearby Elephant Orphanage is worth a visit, seeing lots of elephants. You are supporting the organization in continuing to take photos. Loved this stay and will be back!

One of the highlights of my stay was witnessing the sheer joy on my kids' faces as they splashed around in the pool and explored the hotel grounds. A great area in front of the beautiful river. Good value for money, dinner was very good!! And the staff is very friendly. The beds are comfortable and the room is very clean! We took a safari with them and it was great. Totally recommend it

Very nice location, with a green courtyard. The host was very friendly and helpful. He helped me spontaneously book a safari for the next day. There was also a buffet of Sri Lankan curries in the evening, which were very tasty and varied. I would come back at any time(:
