The traditional SPANNORT family home with common kitchen and self check-in is located right in the centre of Engelberg, close to the train station. This is the first time we really felt home away from home! Rooms are really cozy, the shared kitchen is super-well equipped (e.g. not only a stove and a microwave, but an oven, etc.) -- and everything is kept within the same design, which really make it feel as the whole. The location is super-convenient as well: ~15 min from the train station, ~5 min from bus stations to ski areas, ~7 min from grocery shops and ~10 min from a ski rent. The stuff is super-friendly and almost every day there were small evening compliments in the shared kitchen like hot chocolate with marshmallows, which contribute to the cozyness. Everything is controlled via the app, so it's self- check-in, self- check-out, live chat with the stuff in case needed and no physical key.

Nice hotel in a beautiful location. The staff was very kind and helpful. The room and bathroom were clean and equipped with most necessary things. The room itself has a good size with enough storage units, very quiet and not just sue to the location and the bed was really comfortable to sleep on. The restaurant is also a good choice to have a dinner.

The location high in the mountains and far away from busy tourist stops was to its advantage. The endless views across the alpine area was extraordinary. The dinner and breakfast in cute eating area well served with friendly precision was memorable. Very clean and typically Swiss Mtn decor perfect for our family trek on Via Alpina trail.
