There are wonderful places to eat in every direction, most noticeably at the restaurant attached to the hotel. Our room had a toilet in a separate little room, with the sink outside in the room and the shower in the room facing the bed which was odd and we had to be careful to keep the floor from getting wet, but it worked well for a couple travelling together.

There are a ton of tourists from all over, but still seems to be a ton of locals, all living in perfect harmony. The locals, and Belgians in general, are so incredibly friendly and helpful. There seems to be no antipathy toward tourists, quite the opposite. It's interesting to watch both tourists and locals alike completely caught up in the same feeling, energy, vibe just being in the Market square creates. I can't wait to go back for Christmas Market. As I heard in a movie once, Bruges really is a fairy tale land.

Found a great bar just off the Market Square called "Barts" tiny little bar with tonnes of character and atmosphere
