Banana House is a home away from home, but with the luxury of a hotel. You will feel at home as soon as you step through the beautiful Lamu doors The garden with eco friendly pool, the relaxed atmosphere, the space and the flowers is what stands out immediately. You feel the Wellness straight away. This is what we offer our guests. A place to relax, to rejuvenate and recharge your battery.
Monika (Dutch) & Banana (Swahili) started in 2000 with Banana House, after travelling intensely, world-wide, we decided to create our own home where we can welcome guests from the world.
Banana House is situated 100 mtrs from the waterfront where dhows are still built and repaired, the local people chatting with each other the topics of the day. On the other side we are close to the football field and it gives you a feeling of connection with the village life.
