Cosy and arctic traditional Finnish holiday cottage by the lake near Ivalo, about 15 minutes drive from Ivalo by car. There is a 2,5 km gravel road from the main road. that is heated mainly by stove with wood so you will have an authentic Finnish traditional cottage experience. We will heat the cottage for your arrival in the winter period and always advise you with heating. Near to family home: Cottage is located next to a local home, about 60 m away. There is a small forest in between the houses so you have your own space in the cabin. Fresh drinking water & basic fitting: The water in the lake is suitable for washing, swimming and washing dishes but not drinkable. We will arrange a canister of fresh drinking water inside for your stay and refill it if needed. We also give you sheets & towels to use. PLEASE NOTE: Only traditional arctic outdoor toilet is in use next to the cottage, no inside bathroom available, and no running water. Traditional wood heated Finnish Sauna is possible to book in advance for extra fee in the winter period. In the summer time it is included in the price if you heat the sauna yourselves. The sauna is located in another building, about 120 m from the cottage and is in the family use as well. You can book the sauna in advance if you want to go to sauna in a certain time. There is a possibility to charge your phone in the cottage but there are no Wifi connections. There are coffee & tea making facilities and a Nescafe Dolce gusto coffee maker. If you are travelling with children, we have some toys outside to use. There are 2 nice family dogs living in the premises. Natural phenomena and Northern lights in the winter: We locate in the area where there are no street lights, so our place is a perfect place to spot northern lights during clear weather and with some luck in the autumn and winter between 15.9.-30.3. In the summer there is light 24 hours a day due to the lovely midnight sun and northern lights cannot be seen that time.

In Ivalo, in the nearest village, there are nice restaurants to enjoy dinner as well. It is about 15 minutes driving by car to us from Ivalo village center. Distance to Inari is about 1 hour and to Saariselkä ski resort about 40 minutes. In Inari you can visit Siida, the Sami museum, Northern Lapland Nature Center. There are lots of activities around the area, we know them well and can give you ideas for places to visit and where to book different kinds of activities.
