Petersdorf is located in the west of the island and is described by some as the heart of the island. The village has about 600 inhabitants and offers not only excellent shopping facilities for daily needs. The steeple of the St. Johannis church can be seen from far away and is the centre of the village. Built in 1567, the church tower with its 64m is the highest on the island. The closest beach - in Bojendorf - can be reached in about 4km.
