Boasting free bikes and a shared lounge, Chernchan Hostel is set in Chanthaburi, a 7-minute walk from The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception and Robinson Department Store. Very nice, sweet and helpful staff. Cool, hipster decor all over the hostel. The hostel is the nicest one I have stayed in while in SE Asia and I have been traveling for 8 months in 4 countries. The staff was very helpful with providing documentation as I extended my visa in Thailand. Without request my room was upgraded, which was a wonderful surprise. Very comfortable beds, too! Chanthaburi is a very fun town with a lot of different areas to explore.

I had to quarantine for 1 day in Bangkok and could only catch a later bus to Chanthaburi. The staff arranged for late check in and even arranged for my transport to visit a durian farm (abt 30mins out of town) the following day. Mek and his colleagues were super, quite outstanding really. Mek drove me on his motorbike to eat some amazing food at the old quarters and night market. He helped me arrange for my 5am transport to the bus station for the trip back to Bangkok.
