Well first off I’ve never commented on this before so I suspect it’s because they’ve all been satisfactory however the shower in this room was amazing. I spent almost an hour in the shower.

Offering a terrace and views of the garden, Rio Celeste Backpackers is situated in Bijagua, 42 km from Liberia. This hostel was just what we were looking for! The owners are incredible and the place is so peaceful and beautiful we honestly didn’t want to leave! If you are looking for a place that feels like home right when you step in, this is the one. I cannot recommend it enough.

We even got invited to the dinner with Juan - the owner of the property, and his wonderful wife and friends. Plus we also got a free excursion in the sorrounding garden where Juan grows mangos, avocados, blackberries and meny other fruits. Absolutely recommend.

Situated in Fortuna and with La Fortuna Waterfall reachable within 5.6 km, Pura Vibra Hostel features concierge services, rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. The hostel is situated in a quiet area, but 2 minute walk from the 'center of town'. The vibe is very relaxed, with a garden and terraces where you can sit and meet other travelers. Dorms are relatively small, but all have their own bathroom and there is plenty of room for everyone because you are out and about during the day anyway. The kitchen is big and well-equiped. At 10:30 p.m., lights and music go out, so the peace and quiet is well guarded. Staff is very friendly. The hostel offers very good and very affordable tours through RedLava Tours, but you can also explore the area yourself with an Uber. La Fortuna is lively, with plenty of bars and soda's but still it has a relaxed vibe. La Fortuna is a great hub for exploring the Arenal volcano, rainforest and hotsprings, so I recommend spending at least 3 nights.

Arenal Sloth Hostel is set in Fortuna, within 5 km of La Fortuna Waterfall and 5.4 km of Kalambu Hot Springs. My stay at arenal sloth hostel was amazing! The staff were super friendly, helpful and kind. Jemina is a wonderful person, and does an excellent job. The vibe is super social and I made so many friends here. We shared meals, drinks and so many conversations. The kitchen is super clean and has everything you need. The bed in the dorm was comfy. The whole place was consistently very clean. It's a 10 min walk to town and a 20 min walk to El Salto.
