Great cosy and clean room with everything you need. Black tea and a biscuit in the morning is a great way to start your day. Enough room to unpack your suitcase. I especially loved the desk with a mirror. All my questions were promptly answered. Highly recommend this guest house for your stay in Edinburgh.

It was an amazing experience to stay at Straven Guesthouse. I felt at home, the bed was very comfortable and the room was beautiful and warm. Breakfast was a whole variety of delicious dishes, home made and beautiful. The sea front is only a few steps away and I enjoyed walking along the sea promenade to the cafés - and walking along the sea shore. I felt looked after and cared for by Sinead and Chris. Lorna was an amazing host. In general, accommodation around Edinburgh is quite expensive so we found this place which was relatively affordable compared to other places and had a high rating. It is a house-turned-b&b, has 3 small rooms and a nice small dining room. Everything was super clean and Lorna was the friendliest host we have ever met. She gives you a small form to fill every night to get your breakfast preferences and time to eat. Her cooking is lovely. Definitely recommend her full Scottish breakfast with Haggis. She cooked the best haggis out of the 3 restaurants we tried. The only downside was that the place is quite far from the city (45 min bus ride - take X27) and there is only one bus that goes there but if you catch it and don't mind the travel time, it is definitely worth a stay.

Lovely large room and bathroom. Very comfortable bed. Very nice breakfast! Quiet building. Bus stop right out front, so easy to get to High Street and the Royal Mile.

We really enjoyed our stay at this place. The room was very spacious and clean. The location is great - about 10 minutes walking to a tram station or even less to a bus stop. Easy check in and out and a lovely host! :)
