This East Midtown Manhattan hotel is 9 minutes' walk from the shops and restaurants of Fifth Avenue. Free Wi-Fi is provided in the lobby. Central Park is 15 minutes' walk away. The hotell was very central in Manhattan, close to the subway. It was a perfect base for our family. We looked forward every night to come home to our room. It was clean, had good beds and a great TV. The employees were very nice. Julissa Diaz from the staff signed us in. She was very serviceminded and helpful. There was also a fitness room where our son could work out. He was very happy about this facility. We will definitely use this hotel for our next trip to Manhattan.

Nothing like the modern concept of a small room with a bed to sleep in for a couple of nights after working all day in the city. Here you are made to feel welcome, you are cosseted from the time you enter to the time you leave. First impression is great - a huge open lobby with the reception desks in the right and a large semicircular bar at center left with tables all around and a small dining room behind. There's always a buzz there at whatever time you walk in, and the food and drinks are impeccable. The room was very comfortable with a large bed and plenty of space. The bathroom a pleasure and decorated with a traditional vibe that was somehow completely up to date. Room service was fast, though make up service erred on the discreet side when we went out late one morning and came back at the end of the afternoon to find the room untouched. However a call to the front desk rectified this immediately. All in all a great experience that more than made up for the mistake we made by staying for one night in one of those chic modern flophouses I referred to above! The Intercontinental Barclay will definitely be out home from home in New York from now on.
