Nice clean room in very central area. There is a reception but check-in officially closes in the evening and than there is no way in. Fortunately we arrived just before closing for a quick check-in. Apparently there is a breakfast area but we missed that. It was a Saturday night in a party area, the windows isolate quite well but you could still feel the bass-vibration from the disco. After 3am it was quiet. Great place to stay if you were also out partying.
The U Solné Brány (at the Salt Gate) hotel enjoys a quiet yet central location about 50 metres from the Přemysl Otakar II. Square, which is the main square of České Budějovice.

Very good breakfast. There is no lift but the staff helped with luggage (and refused a tip). The hotel is modern and pleasantly decorated. Secure car parking was provided.
This 4-star hotel is right in the centre of České Budějovice, only a few steps from the main square.

Not much, the building is quite large and has a good position, my room was large and comfortable but nothing special.
Also nobody came to re-do my room and clean, I was there two nights and I was expecting at least someone to clean the bathroom, or open the window for fresh air. I don't have to ask for this basic room-cleaning service... (I don't usually ask for this service in 3 stars hotel when I travel for work!)

Lovely historic town, super Xmas markets - better than Prague. Loads of great bars and several superb microbreweries as well as the world famous Budvar brewery which is well worth a tour.
Great parks and loads of easy walking around the town make it a pleasure to visit.
Good transport links and nearby Cesky Krumlov is a must see.

For a Czech city it was surprisingly uninspiring, the old town is beautiful and it's easy to get around. There is no castle or other major attraction. There's a brewery which proved to be very interesting.

Besides having a beautiful city centre and plenty of good cafes and restaurants and shops, the city is convenient as a hub from which to visit nearby towns in South Bohemia such as Ceske Krumlov, and to link with hiking and bicycle trails.
The Regional Museum is also well worth spending a few hours in.
One thing that online Maps fail to advise, is that Ceske Budejovice has a comprehensive bus network, that is inexpensive.
Overall the people seem happy and friendly to tourists.

Small, less touristy town. Nice town along the river.
Small, less touristy town. Nice town along the river. Has some nice parks and large town square. Not as cute as some other Czech towns but is home to the original Budweiser. Do the tour to learn all about the beer and taste it. The Hluboka Castle is 30 minutes north of the city. If you have time rent a car or use the public transport (bus or train) to go see it. It’s a beautiful, Winchester palace inspired castle. Large ground territory and free to explore. You can pay to do tours inside the castle but walking outside the castle is already worth the visit.

It's not a flashy city.
It's not a flashy city. The vibe was more a working city, not really on the tourist route, but it has a nice, quiet quality. The Old City Center is small and very walkable, though not as big and famous as Český Krumlov - and also not as expensive. It makes a nice stopover between Linz and Prague, with a visit to Český Krumlov in between.

The hotel is located in a building which houses a wellness centre where you can book a massage or sauna. It is best to book it on advance. You enter your room from a little patio, which might be nice in the summer. The location is perfect - very close to the historical centre, bars and restaurants, bus stops and a big parking lot. It was peaceful and quiet. The room looks better in reality than in the photos. The room and the bathroom were spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable.
Hotel Penzion Bohemia located right in the historic center of the city but we picked it for short distance to ČeskýKrumlov, about 30 minutes to drive. Free parking is secured and spacious. The guesthouse located in the historic center of Buděžice, five minutes to walk to the central square and Black Tower. Old fashion rooms and furniture, bathroom is clean. TV, small refrigerator, Wi-Fi works well. Some lack of service. Looks like one person is running all business.
The room was clean and very spacious. We had a room at the back, so it was quiet. Staff were helpful. Close, walkable distance to shopping and buses and train station. Breakfast was well presented, with a good choice of cereal, cold meats, salad, pastries, eggs, different breads, fruit, and sausages. Good for families. There are lots of fantastic places to eat at close by, and the Lido is a short walk away, too. Ceske Budejovice is a great city to stay in.
We had a perfect corner room on the 16th floor with a stunning view, so we loved the panorama! On foot, the city center is about 15 minutes walk.
Breakfast was outstanding with many choices. Parking was included, big open -air parking place only for guests.
A big plus: hotel is dog-friendly, so we could bring our poodle.
I stayed here as a jumping off point to visit Cesky Krumlov and I was so pleasantly surprised. I ended up loving Ceske Budejovice way more than expected. It’s a beautiful little town and this hotel is the perfect place to stay. Photos are very accurate and its very close to the train.
Great location, easy to reach the city center. Well designed apartment for a comfortable stay. Such a comfy bed! Friendly approach of the owner. If I will come back to Ceske Budejovice, I will definitely stay here again.
Rooms were very clean.
Room size was appropriate.
The view from the 10th floor was impressive.
Parking inside the hotel yard was free.
The checking process was short .
Breakfast was 5 *.
The coffee was amazing.
Lovely hotel very high quality throughout,in the nicest location in budejovice. Excellent breakfast and great coffee. The owner and staff are very friendly and welcoming, can definitely recommend staying here.
The hotel is nice, Convenient parking in front for an extra charge. The breakfast was good. Close to the center. A convenient starting point for sightseeing by car.
Cute hotel right near the main square.
Very helpful staff.
It's a 20 min walk from the bus station. I managed with 2 bags as no taxi was available and it was flat.
