Renovated in 2015, IORI Stay is nestled in Takayama. This traditional Japanese-style townhouse was created in collaboration with local artists and boasts designs with both modern and traditional... I can’t say enough amazing things about this special and unique stay. It is a hotel with a beautiful lounge where you check in and then are taken to your own private townhouse in the old city, each one unique. We stayed at Iori Miyagawa which is right on the river and was incredible. We were there for our honeymoon and Shiho went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. Truly one of the best if not THE best hotel experience/accommodation we’ve had anywhere in the world on our travels. Do yourself a favour and stay here.

Very nice riyokan. Our family enjoyed it a lot. The checkin with tablet was easy and went very well. The support from the owner was very good : we call late 1st night to understand how to get hot water and received immediately the answer. I definitely recommend and we will come back with pleasure.

This is a modern, beautiful little house with many comfortable areas, a fantastic washing machine and dryer, a charming garden in a quiet beautiful neighbourhood of Takayama. The wi-fi works perfectly, I had to work remotely and had no problems at all. This was our best stay in our trip to Japan.

Very comfortable, super clean, super tasteful design. On top of, Takashi, who owns/operates a record shop/café next door was the most caring and attentive host you could wish for. He made us feel at home from our arrival. It’s a cute little village. Bakery, ramen shop, grocery. What else do you need. Moving uphill from the place we found beautiful country side views and met really nice people. What a hidden gem. 🙏

SORAMACHI - Vacation STAY 14338 se găsește în cartierul Hida Takayama Onsen din Takayama, la 3,5 km de Muzeul Satului Hida Minzoku Mura, la 49 km de Gero Station și la 12 minute de mers pe jos de... Soramachi was a very comfortable house with good facilities. Probably the most spacious and nicest accomodation we experienced in our travels through Japan. Only stayed 2 nights but it provided a relaxing and quiet break from the crowds elsewhere. The house is right on the river and close to a tranquil temple walk and public bathhouse . It is an easy walk from there to the old quarter and we walked to the house with luggage from the station ( 1.4 km). The owners are obviously very house proud and welcoming. Highly recommend this accomodation.
