I loved how close the motel was to town and Mt. Rushmore.
I loved how close the motel was to town and Mt. Rushmore. Cute motel! But I don't understand why the room was always full of flies, dead and alive. Plus, the ice machine needs to be fixed. I would stay here again, but I'd make sure they got the fly problem under control first.

Our room had a fireplace, and everything was modern and nice. The only downside about the room was the space between the end of the beds and the chest of drawers/TV mount area was tight & you will need to manage traffic passage in the room. I liked that the front desk always had hot coffee & ice water available. Be aware "This is a Big Tourist Attraction Area" & thus tour busses will be dropping off guest in large groups. This was neve a problem for us, but I heard one guest complain about the noise disturbance at early hours as they were loading up... Finally, if you are going to eat, do it before 10pm because thats when everything closes (restaurants & stores).

My husband and I greatly enjoyed the town of Keystone.
My husband and I greatly enjoyed the town of Keystone. We were able to walk to most of the dining and shopping attractions. The surrounding attractions such as Mt. Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial were easy to access from Keystone. Keystone is an excellent location because there is so much to see and do within a short distance.

One of the BEST TRIPS EVER TAKEN! so much to see and do!
One of the BEST TRIPS EVER TAKEN! so much to see and do! So beautiful, majestic and you just know you're in God's country there! Great location to leave and go from, to go adventure out and see all that the Black Hills has to offer. Keystone itself is a quaint town full of cool things to do. From exploring the shops and attractions to just taking it all in.

Not much to actually do in Keystone but located close to Mt Rushmore and Crazy Horse. Were there first part of Oct and most things were closed. We drove thru Custer State Park. $20. Didn't see much wildlife. Enjoyed driving the Needles highway on way into Keystone

Was placed in a handicap room.
Was placed in a handicap room. I was told it had outside access and I could park right at the door. It was a handicap-marked space. There was no other nearby parking so I used it (no parking ticket!). The parking was very steep (I do not belive a wheelchair user could have easily moved from their vehicle to the room).
The air conditioner blew the curtains open whenever it was running. It was also very loud and continually turned on/off all night.
There were bedbugs on the bed.
The bed was very lumpy.
The lamps and clock in the room were unplugged.
There was not adequate power available for charging two phones.
The bed (queen) was too large for the space.
There was no channel guide for the TV. No instructions for using the DirecTV remote.
There was a car parked two doors down that had the security horn blasting for 5 minutes every 45 minutes during the night.
I had to remove a spider and spiderweb from the bathtub before I could turn on the shower.
The complimentary breakfast was almost worth the cost.
We loved EVERYTHING about your facility. The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast made it easy for us to start our day quickly and get out to see all the sights. The Hotel is centrally located, close to many S.D. attractions and within walking distance to Keystone restaurants and shops. Our family suite worked wonderful for our family of 5. The kitchenette and table & chairs were perfect for card games and snacks. We will stay there again should we ever get back to beautiful South Dakota.
Location was great - I like that all of the hotels are clustered together so there's a walkable "downtown" - so much better than a random hotel along a highway surrounded by a bunch of asphalt and strip malls. This hotel is very walkable to main street area -- but significantly uphill to get back (we admit, we were lazy - we drove down for dinner :) The downtown is very touristy but hey we're all tourists, so just go with it and enjoy. Very convenient to have breakfast on site at the hotel.
I have stayed at many hotels that provide a continental breakfast service. The breakfast provided was absolutely wonderful: varied choices, hot, and tasty. June, the kitchen manager was on top of it all. The rapport that she established with her customers via her service was exceptional. I hope that management realizes that folks that return to Comfort Inn will no doubt do so, largely on account of June and her dedication to quality! Thanks June!
The room was great, it was comfortable, clean, we could see Mt. Rushmore from our balcony, and it was only a short drive away. It was located within walking distance to the main streets of Keystone, which was a fun experience, lots of shops, restaurants, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The indoor pool was good sized and great for kids. Breakfast was good. We would definitely stay again, as well as recommend to others!
This hotel is conveniently located near Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, in Keystone, which is a very small town that is a little bit touristy. The hotel is older and its age shows—it could really use a facelift and a deep clean sometime soon—but for the price it’s quite reasonable. There was no complimentary breakfast offered, unfortunately, but the WiFi was decently fast and the bed was quite comfortable.
Cabin 25 is directly up from restaurant. The food was great but pricey! Especially if you are going to eat there daily. Keystone is a great location to all the beautiful motorcycle roads.
Things they dont tell you: you get free bags of ice in the restuarant where you check in. The ONE set of washer/dryer is up the hill at the hotel. $2.00 each...dont expect to do alot of laundry there.
Breakfast was great! Location was perfect! The bed was exceptional! My husband & I had planned to watch a movie after our shower. When we plopped down into bed, that was it! I turned the tv off because that bed was the best we've had yet & we've been to many hotels for conferences & personal travel, so that was a nice change.
I always stay at this hotel. I love the location to Mt. Rushmore and then on to Custer State Park. It is centrally located for my travels in this area. I enjoy Keystone and the small town area. Easy to walk to restaurants.
I love sitting on the balcony and watching the sun set.
Perfect location
Location was great you could see Mount Rushmore from hotel. We arrived just in time for a snow and ice storm being from Alabama that was special treat for granddaughter. Breakfast was excellent. Water pressure for shower was excellent. Staff was friendly.
Good choices for breakfast although the selection changed every day, or every hour, due to the number of people coming by at any certain time.
I also loved the fact that this hotel supports families and good values!
Good location with plenty of shops right by. So close to Mt Rushmore and only a short downhill walk to everything Keystone has to offer. Grab and go breakfast options are good for those hitting the road early.
Everything was Excellent! The least expensive of all of the hotels that we stayed at on our road trip from North Carolina to Yellowstone (and back) ....and it was one of the BEST!
Location was perfect to access the 1800’s train and everything in keystone. Keystone itself is small so not sure any hotel is going to be far away. Short drive to Mount Rushmore
Very nice location near Keystone but completely in the woods with a view on mount Rushmore (side view on Washington). Very clean, spacious rooms. Nice lady at the front desk.
