Hotel Kenito, hotel in São Tomé

Located in São Tomé, a 7-minute walk from Emília Beach, Hotel Kenito provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a terrace.

Great place to stay. The rooms have AC and the pool is nice and refreshing. Kenito speaks English which is very helpful and he made our trip much much easier. He arranged a car rental for us. When we broke down on the side of the road and called him, he immediately sent someone with another car to switch with us. Highly recommend!

Breakfast was fine - nothing special. Room was clean. Neighborhood was visually not pleasant. However, the whole city is that way. One would not come to visit the city. The people are very friendly and it is a safe city.

Pestana Miramar São Tomé, hotel in São Tomé

Located in the Gulf of Guinea on the island of São Tomé and Príncipe, Hotel Miramar by Pestana offers an outdoor swimming pool, terrace with sun loungers and a garden.

The location is great on the side of the town, you can walk to restaurants and markets easily. There is a rental car company on the side of the hotel that is very convenient. The front desk staff are very kind and helpful. The room was a good size. The central garden and pool are a good size and surrounded by mature trees and lots of birds. It's a nice space that the rooms overlook. We could walk directly out to the pool from the room.

casa Luis, hotel in São Tomé

Casa Luis is a recently renovated homestay in São Tomé where guests can make the most of its rooftop pool, garden, and terrace.

Our stay at Luis's place was pleasant, but the price was a little high considering the property did some things that annoyed us a little. We would stay again, but maybe for a shorter time. There was a lot of personnel on the property and not a great personal level of involvement with the couple who own the place. However, the pool was nice and view was spectacular!

An unknown jewel! We visited idyllic places, saw the most amazing sunsets over tropical beaches & saw very few tourists. Most of the locals were very friendly and helpful. It is a photographic paradise.

They have a lot of historical sites and great beaches and islands with friendly people and lots of local cuisines. The city is in bad shape and bad roads and they need to develop the tourism sector particularly their tourist sites . The airport is bad for a tourism country like that and the hotels needs to up their services to meet a value for money and they need to learn English language which is an international language especially the staff of the various hotels and all tour guides. It’s a great place to visit at most for 5days.

Sao Tome is a fantastic destination.

Sao Tome is a fantastic destination. A safe tropical Island almost untuched from the outside world. It is not for unseasoned travellers or the ones who want a lot of service and/or Diesney like conditions. It can be a bit costly and you have to bring cash in form of smaller Euro banknote denominations. Crime, political instability and diseases are much less than in surrounding countries, wich makes travelling here hazzelfree. The climate in the dry season (june-august) feels comfortable, especialy considering that it is tropical Africa. The islands abound with green lush tropical forrest with a lot of exotic fruits, fantastic beaches and some interesting sights. The food is good especially the fresh fish and shellfish, as well as the multitude of excotic fruits and vegetables. In Sao tomé Town I especially recomend the following restaurants/cafees : Papa figo, Camoes and Pastelaria Central, You get much more from your visit if you can speak portuguese. No Visa for 14 Days travel for EU citizens, no need for yellow fever vaccination certficate if travelling from Europe. There is four flights a week with TAP (portuguese) and one flight a week with STP (Sao tome air company)

It´s a Paradise!!! You have to go and see all the sand beaches and eat all the fresh fishes. You have to experiment the santola in the restaurant with the same name. Go to Ilheu das Rolas! Very beautiful!

    Language barrier is too problematic.

Language barrier is too problematic. English is something that even restaurants have difficulty to understand. Beaches are good. Can spend some lonely time at night without much trouble. Brush up on Portuguese language very well or one may end up not having a good meal! Loved to see the Boca De Inferno. The water gushing the rocks is awesome. Smooth roads give you the enjoyable drive towards the south of the island. The Great Dog Peak was worth a view! Loved to eat seafood at the Ilyang Ilyang Restaurant with a peaceful ambience and English understanding staff.

The climate, the forest and the scenic tropical views were unmatched. There are two main phenomenons regarding STome people: leve-leve and doce-doce. The first is very welcome when on holiday but can become a problem when you want to get things going. The second is more of a bittersweet feeling. It can be sweet when seeing it for the first time especially with children, but this turns to harrassment pretty quickly.

From the capital (Sao Tome) , you will have a beautiful , yet challenging road ahead (approximately 2,5 hours, heaviest is Porto Alegre, even for a 4x4). But it is a reason to take it. The lodge is on a beautiful and breathtaking cliff. Amazing views. Driving in to the ecolodge area is just amazing. Pineapples all around, not to mention the rest. The cottage was spik and span and comfy. Different viewsites with well built platforms to do that. Beach within walking distance. Lot of different surfaces (rocks, sand, plants etc.)

It's a very big house: bedroom with private bathroom, living room, fully equiped kitchen, terrace and a beach. And we were there alone (with two lovely dogs). The house is so comfortable that we stayed longer than we planned. We bought all food we needed in a big supermarket in Sao Tome city. It's ideal place for independent travelers. Communication with the host was very good, we were taken from and to the airport, the house was guarded at nights. We felt very safe during all our journey..

I arrived in Sao Tome and Principe, a team at the airport to receive me, Waldimiro and his friend Luis super friendly, free transfer to Residencial, well-guided tour by Manager Waldimiro, showing me some tourist spots, and also buying a sim card and currency exchange , and we went for the night, the next day I had the best breakfast on the island of São Tomé e Príncipe, the space was very clean and with very welcoming and dynamic people. Thank you very much for your service see you soon 😃

The room was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. It is also located only a short 5 minute walk to various restaurants and places of interest in Sao Tome. The owner was very responsive and even helped arrange to puck me up at airport. This is truly a guest house with only two rooms and no reception/hotel desk; however, owner is available by phone and has made arrangements/partnered with connected businesses to help. Highly Recommend!

This hotel is at a great location which is right across from the beach and walking distance from town. The owner and staff were very welcoming to us. On our last day it had rained heavily the previous night which caused floods so we were unable to go tour the southern part of São Tomé. The owner let us stay in our room for free until late evening to catch our flight!

Geovanni is a very welcoming host that speaks English very well. The rooms are clean and tidy and offer everything you need. The breakfast the served is delivious and gets you ready for the day exploring São Tomé. The location is right in the city center and allows you to explore everything by foot. I have stayed there various times and always enjoy coming back.

Nice hotel not far from the sea. I particularly remember the great atmosphere and the friendliness of the ambitious staff. Breakfast was fine, freshly prepared egg variations and fresh fruit. Very helpful: the free late check-out on the last day. I was a guest for a week and really enjoyed my time. Thanks for all. And greetings from Germany.

Praia is a great place for families, it has plenty of space for children to run and play. Food is good, and staff are amicable and helpful. The beach in front of the hotel is not very appealing, but you can easily take daily tours to different parts of the island to enjoy the more beautiful beaches.

The breakfast was simple, but one of the better ones we had in Sao Tome. It is close to downtown so it's easy to get markets, fresh bread, and groceries nearby. This is a budget hotel and it is Africa so the wife and power go out sometimes, but the AC worked well; that was a huge plus.

The hotel is on a quiet side street so not much noise. Most places in Sao Tome were in walkable distance but you can easily get a taxi or moto from the hotel. I liked the design of the room and it had good AC. The staff were very helpful even when there was a language barrier.
