Charming and compact Bratislava is the world’s only capital city bordering 2 countries – Austria and Hungary, all watered by the beautiful River Danube. South is the modern city and a peaceful forest, but the real Bratislava attractions are over Novy most (New Bridge), an impressive structure with an UFO-like pylon. The castle on a rock overlooking the Old Town offers the best views of it. The rock itself contains a Jewish cemetery and a literally underground club.
Opposite is St Martin’s Cathedral, coronation site of past Hungarian kings. The cobbled streets behind are lined with outdoor restaurants and bars. The city’s speciality is treska, a cold cod salad, washed down with white wine from the nearby Small Carpathian mountains.
The main square is Hlavne namestie, home to pastel-coloured buildings, a 14th-century town hall housing the city museum, and the Bratislava Christmas markets. Hodzovo namestie square features the Peace Earth sculpture and Baroque Grassalkovich Palace, the presidential residence guarded by the Slovak National Guard. Across the park is the Archiepiscopal Palace, seat of the government. All around are many Bratislava hotels, B&Bs and apartments available on Booking.com.
Before heading to Bratislava Airport, visit Kamzìk TV tower whose revolving restaurant and observation deck offer magnificent city views.

Friendliest, most heplful city I've ever been to - but this may (or may not) be due to it being early in the season.
We arrived Saturday night and left Tuesday morning. Many things are closed on Monday which meant we missed out on the Danube boat trip we had been hoping to take.

The hill top and views of the Danube river ware amazing.
The hill top and views of the Danube river ware amazing. The down is small and perfect for people who enjoy walkable destinations. I definitely didn't like the food. We visited two restaurants but at both places it just wasn't cooked properly. That is not my experience in the neighboring Vienna.

Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends.
Just spent a few days in Bratislava with some friends. The old town and Castle are easy to get around. We hired a bike and went across the river where you can cycle the Danube all the way to Germany if you choose. Food was lovely and all delicacies were covered. There are some fantastic shopping centers just off old town with all the brands you'd expect plus some Slovakian ones. Bratislava is definitely a must see.
Really cosy room with a vibe that went with the whole hotel itself - artsy and very different compared to other hotels in Bratislava!
Cheap as well and conveniently next to the train station which, by the way, is not very loud despite being told so.
Walk to the old town square is only 15-20 minutes which saves greatly on public transport.
Staff were super friendly despite the language barrier but were very helpful showing me the facilities around the hotel.
Overall a satisfying, recommendable experience!
Hotel is in a great location, approx 5 mins walk from the old town one way, and 5 mins walk up to the castle the other way. Bratislava is small enough you can walk everywhere which we did, but if you prefer to use tram, the tram is pretty much out the front of the hotel. Staff were all helpful and friendly, greeting us when we would come and go. Internet worked great. Shower pressure was great. Highly recommend this hotel.
Great hostel in Bratislava Old Town. Set on a hill. Room was good size with 3 single beds split across 2 areas plus ensuite bathroom which was dated but clean and fully functional.
Great access with keycode/fob entry. Felt safe at all times. Nice airy communal areas. Good little shops and mini supermarket nearby. Pleasant 5-10 minute walk into city centre. Close to old city walls and castle.
Very local to all the sites and the old town. It's very basic but it's functional. Ok for a place to lay your head at night.
Breakfast was in a little cafe around the corner. Staff were great in the cafe. Breakfast was the same most mornings.
Room was very clean with plenty of towels and stuff.
Reception was in a hotel around the corner with friendly staff.
Perfectly clean apartment. You'll find everything you need. Great bathroom, and comfortable bed. There is Bratislava Castle (the main capital attraction) 300m from the apartment + the city centre is nearby. The hosts were super-responsive and helpful. We got the free parking slot included in the price.
Hotel is well located in the old town area. Staff was very friendly and had great ideas for where to go and what to order for dinner. The breakfast is excellent and the courtyard is beautiful. My room was very interesting and had stairs to the bathroom with the best view from a window over the tub.
Perfect for me.
Visiting friends in Petrzalka, so ideal location and decent facilities, at a very good price (compared to downtown Bratislava).
Excellent bus and tram network easily accessible from the hotel, with links to old town, main station and the airport (requires 1 change).
Good budget hotel in the very city center of Bratislava, right next to the Presidential Palace. Old town reachable in 5 min by foot. Breakfast is pretty basic but for 8.5 EUR is ok. Good parking nearby is available, 15 EUR, could be a bit cheaper for the hotel guests.
The hotel was great and meet your expectations. It's inside the old town so is very easy to walk around. The hots were super friendly and gave a lot of good suggestions. Definitely the best place to stay in Bratislava. Room was big, excellent shower and bed.
Close to Bratislava Old town and the bus station Nivy this boutique hotel provide you with all the accommodations you could wish for. Spacious rooms, delicious breakfast, spa and fitness room. The staff is professional and always ready to meet your needs.
The hotel is very beautiful with a very good restaurant for a really wonderful breakfast buffet (with champagne!)
The location on the river walk next to the Danube is a 15 walk to charming old town with many lovely restaurants and shops.
AC Hotel is in a very convenient location to old town, shopping, Main train station, buses and trams. The breakfast buffet was outstanding with options for any dietary needs. Our room was spacious and comfortable.
This apartment was amazing, nicely furnished, had everything we needed for a short stay in Bratislava, it is very near from the shopping centers, bus station and old town. We had a great stay in there. Thank you!
Quiet and clean place, the new wing is well furnished and equiped, free parking garage is an extra bonus. We always stay in this hotel when in Bratislava, despite it isn’t so close to old town.
A lovely hotel in the heart of the the pedestrian only area of Old Town Bratislava - close to all shops, restaurants and even has it’s own local restaurant which was served delicious meals.
Hotel is close to the city centre.
There is a possibilty to park and charge your car for a small additional fee.
Breakfast was good.
TV had netflix, Apple TV+ & Youtube.
Great location and smart rooms in a hotel with character located on one of the town passages in the old town in Bratislava. Nice simple continental breakfast. Friendly staff.
Very good location in the middle of the old town, near the town square. Good restaurant at the front of the hotel, giving reduction for guests. Nice space to be.
