Extremely clean hostel. Definitely the cleanest hostel I’ve ever stayed in. Really nice family vibe to the hostel. Every single member of staff we came across were so friendly and helpful. Facilities are excellent. An extra toilet would be beneficial.
Offering garden views, House pc is an accommodation situated in Porto da Cruz, 600 metres from Alagoa Beach and 10 km from Santana's traditional houses.

Excellent location, large property with great views and nice swimming pool. Please disregard the negative comment about toilet roll on the review by 'Birznieksm Austria' as this is common practice throughout Madeira due to the nature of their waste water systems and processing.
Situated in Porto da Cruz and only 200 metres from Maiata Beach, Domus Dino features accommodation with city views, free WiFi and free private parking.

The location was excellent and we loved the closeness to the village and the sea! The house was comfy and had all we needed for our 3 day stay. Sea views were also a grat bonus :)
Situated in the centre of Santana, this quaint, traditional hotel offers you a peaceful retreat with beautiful views of the mountains and the ocean

We spent here only 1 night, restaurant was great, we didnt have time for pool, but surely its refreshing. We were leaving early in the morning and staff made us a breakfast to go, thank you very much :)

Beautifully situated little village with everything you need for a "slow life" relaxing, stress free stay! We visited almost all costal villages in Madera, and Porto da Cruz is by far our favourite!!!! We love this place and keep coming back here! :) Also, the is the best restaurant ever, A Pipa! Thoroughly recommended!

A small but very cozy town.
A small but very cozy town. Has few local supermarkets, few good restaurants and snack bars with a perfect food. Amazing rock views. Also you must visit a Madeira rum factory, that is located in this town and taste it. This town has 2 beaches and 1 local natural pool.

Sleepy little fishing village surrounded by sloping hills...
Sleepy little fishing village surrounded by sloping hills and sheer cliffs. Magnificent scenery around. Ideal for surfers. Pleasant climate when we visited in April. Flowers all around in full bloom. If you're looking for an active holiday hiking in nature and tranquil evenings, this is the place to come. Having a head for heights is a bonus. Or take gentler trails to get used to sometimes dizzying drops at your own pace. We stayed outside of Porto da Cruz in a little house about 20 mins walk away nestling on a green hill that sloped gently into a valley. Small streams abound taking water down to the sea. Expect birdsong everywhere, especially in the mornings punctuated with cocks crowing from small farmsteads peppered around the slopes. Frogs also joined in with their springtime mating calls trilling the air. Food was simple but from high quality local produce. We'd recommend this area and a visit to Madeira to those needing to get back to nature and a sustainable approach to life. Not too much litter in and around the town. Either local groups clearing up or tourists in general are conscious and careful to respect the natural beauty of the environment by leaving as little trace of their passing as possible.

It's a small town, beach not usable, outdoor pool in bad conditions, room not clean (shower and floor ) two places for hiking: one is dangerous, one is steap and boring, no view
Everything is damp, not much sun
I visited Madeira during a storm, which broke out whilst I was at Jaca Hostel. I was only at the hostel for 2 nights, but actually it was my favourite place to stay!
I met lots of amazing people, many also travelling alone. Porto da Cruz is very quiet (very different to Funchal), but I felt a real sense of community even for the short time I was there.
There are lots of hikes you can do from Porto da Cruz, an amazingly cheap bakery/sandwich shop that does great coffee just next door, and plenty of surfing opportunities.
The hotel is located right on the waterfront of the village. My room faced a wall, so it was stuffy in the room. The view from the room was to the wall. Some insects crawl in the room, which are poisoned in the evening. It smells strongly of sewage in the toilet and in the restaurant at breakfast (if you sit near the toilet). from the shower, water flows onto the floor in the toilet, which creates additional humidity and stuffiness. Be sure to close the toilet door. The staff is very friendly, the breakfast is good.
Big and comfortable house. Big sunny terrace with amazing view. If the house was not a bit cold it would have been perfect. The host was very nice, generous and reactive. We were offered fruits at arrival, then a bottle of wine which was excellent and when we asked for heaters because it was cold, they brought 2 electric heaters. Porto da Cruz is a very nice village and the bus stops nearby the house so it’s easy to go to the village and it’s natural swimming pool if one doesn’t want to go by foot.
Newly renovated hostel/hotel type of accommodation. If you want to have a private holiday you can, if you want to interact with other guests in the shared areas you can as well. There is a nice lounging spot on the roof and in the downstairs kitchen/living room area. Check-in was very easy with a self-service lockbox outside. Rooms are simple and clean and have a lovely view on the 1st floor of a local church. Short walk to the beach areas and hiking trails.
The location. We loved coming “home” to Porto da Cruz. Great and friendly people, good local food, and rainbows every day-usually doubles!
The space was terrific, beds very comfortable and plenty of hot water. We had planned hikes in the northeast while there and very happy everything was within 20 minutes drive. Luna was a fabulous host, very responsive and made us feel so relaxed.
We hadn’t stayed in Porto da Cruz before, it’s a quaint little surf town on the coast. The house is older but in a great location for anyone who wants to get around without using a car. The property had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, the beds were really hard so be prepared. Check out Dino’s Bar right under the house, fantastic poncha and a nice location for walking.
We had the best view in Porto da Cruz.
The ocean was just under our feet and we enjoyed so much the sound of waves breaking against the rocks.
We had an electric kettle in the room and tea which was also great and a heating radiator as we went inFebruary and it was a cold weather.
Breakfast was very good.
A lovely stay. We would certainly go back there.
The house is located at the edge of the village to Porto da Cruz (5 mins downhill walk to village). The village is very cute, with a lovely natural salt water swimming pool maintained by local municipal (1.5€ for the adults), a few reasonable restaurants at the seafront, a bakery, and a supermarket. The house has a lovely garden and beautiful seaview.
Mateus house is a great accommodation in Porto da Cruz. The host is very friendly and responsive. The interior is nice, modern and complete - everything relevant is available. The house is spacious (two floors) and in addition offers a large terrace on the top. The location in the heart of Porto da Cruz is wonderful.
The studio is set up well - everything you need and very organized. Located close to a mini-mercado for conveniences. Just a short 5 minute drive to beautiful Porto Da Cruz and the surf spots. The studio is very clean and comfortable. There were a lot of thoughtful touches like a drying rack for clothes.
I did not stay in the guest house because there was a confusion with the booking, but in the main hotel Vila Bela!
The room was nice with a little balcony and went right out onto the sea. I could hear the sea all night which I loved! The staff is friendly and the food was good. Breakfast was nice.
We were extremely happy with everything. A car is useful if you stay here to visit other parts of the island. You can easily walk to Porto da Cruz and the beaches around. Helpful and kind property owner made sure we had everything we needed. We'll definitely be back.
Lovely host, modern apartment, great location close to the sea and promenade with restaurants and two supermarkets, big terrace.
Porto da Cruz is a beautiful small village. We're glad we stayed here and would come back anytime.
No breakfast. Very convenient to Porto da Cruz shore, restaurants and walking paths. The owners were very quick to respond to our needs and any issues with the lodging. Secure parking for our rental car.
Very friendly staff. Very good restaurant and nicest breakfast we had amongst the hotels we had during our stay in Madeira. Nice location near the ocean and very beautiful surroundings.
The hotel had beach access, and it was beautiful. It was easy to drive around the island with a launch point of Porto da Cruz. The breakfast was delicious, and the room was quiet.
