We ended up in Orbetello spontaneously & loved this place! Beautiful, comfortable room in a lovely building in a great location to explore the little historic center. Good breakfast. And the price was surprisingly low! No one we know has heard of the area, seems to be more of an Italian family destination. There are wonderful beaches nearby - which are surprisingly rare on this beautiful coast. I'd love to go back & would definitely stay here again.

Was a delight Orbetello is in winter.
Was a delight Orbetello is in winter. Blue sky therapy for starters; no wind/rain for two solid weeks over Christmas with temps hitting 15C every day. The location, the peace and quiet, the natural beauty around this sleepy - and historic - little town. Everything about this place took me by surprise and charmed me the whole time I was there doing an Italian language course. It's a world away from the mainland hustle and bustle. Check out the sunrise/sunsets over the lagoons, the birdlife (flamingos!), the beaches and so much more. Take the local bus for a 10mn ride across the causeway over to Monte Argentario and explore Porto S. Stefano or Porto Ercole and beyond. A paradise for walkers, hikers, cyclists, birdwatchers, lovers of nature and beauty. It's just stunning!

After the endless crowds and scarce beaches of Amalfi & Sorrento & Capri, Orbetello seemed like a hidden find! Lovely town. Beautiful accessible beaches nearby. Reasonable rates for hotels & food. We had a rental car & were just sort of cruising & came upon it. No one we know has heard of it. I'd definitely go back!

Plenty of lovely places to visit if you have transport.
Plenty of lovely places to visit if you have transport. The botanic dry gardens and Ortobello itself were our only trips as we had no transport. The brochures at La Posta give plenty of ideas of what to see. Eat at the Enoteca in Orbetello with local produce. A walk around the promenade is recommended.
Definitely eat at La Posta di Torrenova!!!

It is a quiet town super close to Monte Argentario.
It is a quiet town super close to Monte Argentario.
On the main road you can find some shops (clothes, hygiene products) and loads of pizzerias and bars.
Orbetello is really well kept Toscan town, which I am sure is buzzinh during high season. Now it was rather authentical with only locals.
There are buses going to Port Ercole and Port Santo Stefano, the ticket one way costs 2,60€.
Orbetello also boast over really green surroundings and has numerous parks.

Orbetello has a cute Centre.
Orbetello has a cute Centre. Without a car, though, it’s difficult to get to any beaches. The buses are good, though, and run on time. Staying on Monte Argentario, in a place like Porto Santo Stefano has much better views and better for beach access
The hotel on arrival seemed very nice indeed. It was easy to find and the car park was only a 2 minute walk away where we paid €4 for 24 hours. There was a lift to the first floor where we were staying and the room was very roomy indeed. We had a
double bathroom which was interesting as it was one basin and then through a door to another basin and shower unit before heading into another part of the bathroom where the toilet, bidet and bath was. I did take advantage of the 2 hairdryers as I could dry my hair using both at the same time!
Hotel right in the center of town, very walkable to many things.
We were only there overnight because we were on our way from Venice to Amaseno, Italy. It is too long a trip for us to do in one day.
Breakfast was excellent
Older hotel, but they keep it clean and newer furnishings. We had a beautiful view from the balcony, and it is in a small, but pleasant town.
Nicely positioned hotel with beautiful lake views from patio and forward facing rooms. Best pillows in Italy so far. Quiet nights. Very nice breakfast with seating option in courtyard with plenty of room. Very convenient for evening stroll, restaurants and shops. About 2 hr or less drive from Fiumicino made it an easy place to reach first day.
Everything was amazing. The inn and restaurant were fantastic. The staff went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed for a great stay.
You're going to need a car. Rent a car and drive into Orbetello and around the area. There's so much to explore. Renting a bike and going through the nature preserve is wonderful!
This gem in Orbetello is worth changing your itinerary. Casa Iris is beautifully styled, so elegant and unpretentious. Matthew is another gem, a wonderful host and the morning chats were lovely. We did not have Orbetello and Isola Giglio on our radar but Casa Iris changed that and I hope we can return again very soon.
The value for money can't be beat! La Perla is very well located to go to Porto Santo Stefano. No fancy bells and whistles, but it's super clean and comfortable, & within walking distance of the center of Orbetello. We stay here whenever we have plans for diving in Porto Santo Stefano.
I loved everything about this property! It’s located in the center area of Orbetello, quiet and safe area. This couple who own the property went beyond to take care of guests! I really enjoyed our conversations during the breakfast time! Will definitely return
Matthew was an amazing host and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. We had great food, visited beautiful beaches and enjoyed Orbetello so much because of his recommendations. It felt like staying with an old friend!
The room is nice and clean and has everything needed. It is in the best location in Orbetello. Luigi, the host is no less than amazing. So thoughtful and kind. The best host I have ever encountered. Most recommended
The owner was really great, helped us a lot, great breakfast, great place. One of the best hotels we have ever stayed.
It is the type of place that we recomendo to everyone
