There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more...

There are 2 Reyhkolts in Iceland and this is the more westerly one (the other is on the Golden Circle to the south). We visited Vidgelmir, the lava tube, and it was fabulous! It's cold inside so dress warmly. The guides were all geologists who specialize in this kind of formation and were knowledgeable about both geology and the history of the tube. Krauma geothermal baths and restaurant: the baths were expensive and we didn't go but the restaurant served great food (also expensive as is all food in Iceland).

Well maintained and updated farmhouse overlooking the valleys of Reykholt. Had a fun breakfast with the hostess/owner and other guests - chatting about our experiences and home countries. My room was charming and comfortable with farmhouse decor. Really appreciated the cluster of multiple bathrooms and showers for the guests. There is a hot tub on the balcony. Always enjoy seeing dogs on the premises.

Location was great, and cabin very functional and comfortable. Jacuzzi was very easy to use and worked very well, as well as everything in the cabin (kitchen, hot water, etc.). Amazing location for a quiet, resourceful stay, which was exactly what we were looking for. You need to rent a car if you're going to stay there, but if you do, it's a great place to stay and explore the western part of Iceland.

Everything. We arrived from USA very early for our reservation. Was about 9 am. Room not ready. When reception realized that we were tired from our travels they invited us into the breakfast buffet on their dime. While we were at breakfast they had a room cleaned up for us so we could check In early. Wonderful and very much appreciated service. We will be staying at more fosshotels during our trip.

Completely relaxing place, perfect after seeing the Cave. At the suggestion of the guy at check in took a pleasant walk down to the river led by the hotel dog. He also told us about Northern Lights that night, which were great! They made an off-the-menu vegan dish for my wife. Beautiful wool items for sale knit by his grandmother.

The guest house was clean and well managed. Our hosts were friendly and the location was exceptionally beautiful. We enjoyed walking around the farm, seeing the sheep, Icelandic horses and sheep dogs. Using the common kitchen was a way to interact with the other guests and find out what was good to see in the area.

Wonderful place, very clean room and very good price. The breakfast is the best I've had during my stay in Iceland and I really appreciated that it was included in the fare. Convenient shared kitchen and clean shared bathrooms. The hot tub outside is great and worth trying! I wish I could have stayed longer.

The hotel is modern and looks fresh. The spa is great (2 types of sauna, outdoor hot pots). Bath robes are provided in the rooms. There is a good restaurant in the hotel. All in all a very comfortable stay. It felt more luxurious than the other 9 hotels we stayed in during our trip in Iceland.

The cottage was lovely, warm and cosy, a perfect bolt hole from the Icelandic weather. The location was brilliant - wonderful views across the valley to the mountain ranges beyond. The host was very friendly and welcoming, even making time to show us the sheep and lambs!

Inga and Siggi were wonderful and welcoming and the house was like a 5-star hotel private property!!! I have stayed at many high-end hotels and this house exceeded them. The owners were accessible and checked in on us frequently to make sure we had whatever we needed.
