Really nice hotel with a great pool! The staff were very friendly and the breakfast buffet had lots of options. Beautiful view from the balcony and a very pretty beach right opposite (but down some steep steps). Slightly far out of skala (45 min walk) but there’s a minibus from the hotel for €1.50 or a taxi is only €7 one way. There’s also some great restaurants nearby.

Very friendly and responsive host, great location: only a few minutes walk to the beach, restaurants and a very short walk to town centre (around 10 minutes walk). Big room with very specious balcony, table and chairs and amazing view to the sea. The room was cleaned every day, so it was very clean and tidy. The room has kettle, cutlery, pots, dishes, cups, and fridge, so there are no issues to cook your own food, but there are plenty of restaurants to choose from in Skala as well. The supermarket is just down the hill, 2 minutes walk. Property is located on the hill, so it is far enough from the noise and is very peaceful and quiet: we had a great sleep, and the bed was huge and comfy! The outside area is beautiful as well with lots of flowers, blossoming bushes, and well kept. The only thing that could make this place even better would be a swimming pool 😊 but it was not an issue for us at all, having beaches nearby or within driving distance. It is not a downside, just a suggestion 😊
Skala seemed quiet and nice, but we only spent one evening there as we were travelling to different locations every day and explored the whole island (stayed in Summer Sun for around half of our trip). Just down the hill (2 minutes walk), there is a very nice "Ammos beach bar" with a lounge vibe, perfect for cocktails or so to finish the day. Beautiful interior, sitting outdoors under the roof.
From nearby places, I would definitely recommend visiting Poros, which is only around a 20-minute drive from Skala. Go for lunch or dinner in "Agrapidos Taverna" - it is located on the hill and has an amazing view of the sea, town and mountains! There are loads of great places in Kefalonia, but I would probably have to do a separate review! 😊

Skala is a really lovely place, with fantastic restaurants, cafes and bakeries. The food is really reasonable and Skala is easy to get around.
We got the bus up to Argostoli for the day and it was really good to go up and see there again. The buses are a bit limited this time of year but we got a taxi back and it was well worth it for a full day up there.
Skala is a really friendly place and you are made to feel so welcome.
it is such a lovely place to visit and see with stunning views and lovely people.

Skala beach is great, although it is not sandy.
Skala beach is great, although it is not sandy. There are water sports available and lots of umbrella's and beach bars to choose from. It gets deep quickly making it perfect for swimming and snorkelling.

It’s a great location.
It’s a great location. It has bars and restaurants but not big night life. Which I like. More family and friends & couples. Which makes the area even more special. No big groups of party etc. Any restaurant on the square is great. ( especially Pines and Flamingo) it’s Small enough to get around but packed with options for drinking and eating out.

The staff at Porto Skala Hotel was extremely welcoming and kind! Beautiful smiles and so helpful with anything! The morning breakfast buffet was vast and whoever was in the kitchen definitely enjoyed making deserts (even for breakfast!). The small beach in front of the hotel was breathtakingly beautiful! The pool was a perfect place for a family with kids to relax/have fun!
I have not been abroad for about 5 years and was apprehensive about being away yet Wendy was simply amazing, 1st name terms from meeting us at the door. Loved every minute. The food was really good, they have an incredible chef and everything was just amazing!! The hotel has a breathtaking view overlooking the beautiful Kefalonian ocean and it provides such tranquility.
We have just returned home from a wonderful holiday in Skala Kefalonia. Our stay in the Paspalis Hotel was excellent we would all definitely book to stay again. Lovely friendly Taverna for breakfast and all the meals we had there in the evening were very good. Close to the beach and a pleasant walk into the village.
As a person who almost traveled all Kefalonia, the Skala is the best location with its infrastructure and beach. The apartment is close to the beach and in the center of the area. The apartment was so comfortable and well-equipped. It was definitely worth staying!!
David was a brilliant Host. He stocked the fridge for our arrival, was very helpful with recommendations and any questions we had. The villa was spotless and in a great location, close to Skala Main Street. Would recommend for anyone visiting Kefalonia.
Nicest place we stayed at since we arrived in Greece. Property was very nice and very clean. staff were extremely professional and friendly. The apartments are centrally located next to the restaurant. stores and supermarket.
The hotel was really clean, rooms big and cleaned daily. Staff super nice, location brilliant, close to the beach and Skala village, but really quiet at night and super laid back by day. We’ll absolutely book to stay again
W friendly and helpful staff, I wish all hotels was like this one. The breakfast was never crowded like in other hotels. Rooms are with nice view. Despite of a road that is close to the hotel, there was no noise.
Captains House is placed in the South part of Kefalonia, very close to the beach, restaurants and shops. The hotel has its own bar with friendly stuff and good cocktails.
