A beautiful little Island just a short ferry trip from Athens with access to other Islands like Hydra.
Lot's of small shops, mini-marts, restaurants etc -plenty of choice to eat out.
Lovely walks - if you hire a car you can visit the main places in a day or two.

Poros is one of the most underrated islands of Greece, indeed. It's very small but beautiful, serene, calm , clean, quite and picturesque. Only 1hr 15minutes ferry travel from Piraeus port of Athens. There are lots of restaurants, caffe, supermarkets, shops. All types of food are available there including Greek food specially. People are welcoming, friendly and very generous. If needed laundry shops are there too. The clock tower is an added area where people can go see the entire island from bird's view. It's not so expensive like Mykonos and Santorini. But one can get the flavours of Santorini or Mykonos there. As a whole it's worth visiting Poros.

Calm, non touristy. Good food.
Calm, non touristy. Good food. Easy to walk or get a cab anywhere. We were off season (late September) and came by ferry for a few days break from Athens but have been before in high season in our yacht and it was good then too. Ate at Dimitris and Apagio Tavern, great meat and fish at the market, good coffee and lunch at clock cafe, good bakery and great ice cream and helpful pharmacy in the square by the meat and fish market.

Poros is an authentic, laidback Greek island, which also happens to be a major stop-off for yacht charters and flotillas. But, if you're not a yachtie, (we're not) they don't spoil the feel too much.
Only a few paces away from the yacht berths, you can find ouzeries where they still give you proper, free mezes with your drink, as you watch the old boys play backgammon and shoot the breeze. Or you can relax in more upmarket, restaurants and bars - but you've come to Greece, be more Greek! If you're in the square boasting Destino's Kafeneion, the locals' bar next door and Pavlou Shop which sells "plumbing fixtures, beach equipment and church supplies" you're in the right place.

Small but such a beautiful island!
Small but such a beautiful island! green and blue combination! Loved our walks down town at night with the great restaurants and the narrow streets up the hill to the tower Clock to watch the sunset.
We got there by car and took the ferry from Galatas (4-5 mins) to get across.

Poros island is fabulous, the views are breathtaking and the geographical features are unique with many small bays and pine-trees that reach the coast. It is really near the Peloponnese peninsula and you can have small trips there e.g. going to Epidaurus or Methana. However, the island is small and the beaches are not sandy. It is worth visiting the capital and have lunch at its restaurants. The top restaurant, to my mind, is Poseidon.
It is easy to get around Poros mainly by taxi or by small boats.
This is a wonderful hotel. It's decorated very tastefully, it has a very nice view of a bay with a cute beach and the fact that it's not located right in the main town makes it not that noisy. The rooms are big and very well equipped. Just the shower curtain was a little difficult to manage because it kept sticking to the body. The wifi coverage is exceptional even at the beach across the street. We would definitely come back here.
It was exactly what I wanted. The rooms are located in a convenient place. Next to the sea and the ports. Many restaurants, bars and shops within a 10min walking radius. Still, the rooms are quite.
The owners and the staff were very friendly and answered all of my questions since I wasn't familiar with the island of Poros.
Room had a comfortable bed and was very clean.
Totally recommended 💯
Amalia is amazing! She had been extremely responsive and helpful since we started communicating online. Upon arrival, she received us at the door step, showed us to our room and gave us some recommendations of what to do & eat around the Island.
The room was clean and came with basic, sufficient facilities.
The hotel location was great as well, as it was located near the port.
The Manessi is a great hotel and the sea view rooms have amazing views of the beautiful Poros sunsets.
It is perfectly located in the centre of the port to spend hours overlooking the boats in the marina
The staff are so friendly and helpful and Georges is a great host.
We will absolutely come back to Poros just to stay in the Manessi again. We wouldn’t way to stay anywhere else.
Gigi Rooms was a wonderful place to call home for my several days in beautiful Poros. Amalia was incredibly helpful, easy to contact, and made sure that I had everything I needed. The location couldn't have been better, just a few minutes walking from the main street, and the room itself was beautiful with the most stunning view from my balcony. Recommend completely!
Wonderful hotel with perfect location right next to the ocean, and such a lovely staff! It is even more amazing in real life compared to pictures - like stepping into a Greek painting. Can’t think of anything to complain about: we enjoyed our holiday to the fullest and will surely come back one day to the lovely island of Poros <3
The place feels very authentic and well looked after. The location is perfect, in the heart of Poros Town, all restaurants are just around the corner from the hotel. The host was super nice and let me have late checkout.
The room was cleaned and refreshed everyday.
Most important thing: the bed was extremely comfy
Excellent location, hotel personnel very friendly, we always book Golden View every time we visit Poros,
We come to Poros the last 10 years, and the hotel never disappointed us. The best beach of the island in front of the hotel. Delicious lunch at the hotel taverna with very reasonable prices.
Location, couldn't have been better. very close to the ferry drop and with a great view of everything, extremely friendly staff and was great value for money. we were there for 1 night transitioning as we preferred Poros to Athens for our last night so it was great for what we needed.
The location of the hotel was pretty good. The owner was super helpful and everytime cheerfully welcomed us. The room was clean and tidy and the room with sea view was just fantastic, fascinating..breathtaking from morning to night, you could enjoy whole Poros..
The apartment was great, super clean and the hostess very polite and sweet.
The only thing that I would change was the facilities, it was a little bit old, but in any case I would totally recommended it for anyone who wants to visit the beautiful island of Poros
Great location, just 200 meters from Askeli beach and 2 km from Poros center. Beautiful terrace with sea view. The apartment is equipped with basic kitchen appliances and it is thoroughly cleaned everyday. The staff is nice and helpful
Our room was spacious, in excellent condition and with all the amenities one could desire. The breakfast was the best we've had at a hotel on a Greek island, served on the top floor where the view was exceptional.
Good location above the town with lovely views over the active channel between the island and mainland. Spacious terrace very nice to have breakfast and evening sundowners.
Host was very responsive and helpful.
My room was clean. It had a hot water kettle, coffee maker, fridge, private bathroom, TV. Three minute walk to ferry terminal. Hotel faces harbor. Can look at boats docked.
The comfortable big room with the view, the politeness of the staff, the pool ,the cleanliness, the location near the village of Poros ,the quiet of the place
