The property is well located very near to the central square but there was no noise in the room at all. It is very stylish and imaginatively designed with quality fittings including kitchenware. The bed was large and very comfortable and the shower excellent. Our room was on the ground floor with access to an outside sitting area. It was split level with the toilet and shower downstairs so a word of caution if you have any physical limitations as there are some 18 steps to negotiate without a hand rail. There are no common areas ( bar, restaurant etc) but with a well equipped kitchen and lots of bats, restaurants and shops nearby, that is not a problem.
Located in Palaiochóra and with Pachia Ammos reachable within 200 metres, Hotel Elman provides a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace.

Beautiful vintage style, family-owned hotel. Location is very convenient, right next to the beach so you can actually hear the waves. It’s a bit further from the core but still walkable within minutes. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The son of the family gave us useful tips for the restaurants and things to do nearby. Thank you for everything.
Highly recommended!

The apartment was very centrally located, easy walking distance to beach, harbour, restaurants and shops. There was plenty of free parking in the nearby streets. Our apartment was clean and spacious, there was a lovely wine bar downstairs adorned with a canopy of glorious flowers... we had a great three-night stay, thank you very much!!

Location was excellent and staff very accommodating
I love Palaiochora - have visited several times. There is a very long sandy beach on the west side of the village - the sunbeds and umbrellas do not dominate the beach due to its size. There is a nudist area at the northern end but, sadly, it looks like the cantina there is not open this year. There is also a beach on the east side but it is stony and not to my liking. In the evening a couple of streets are closed off to traffic (but not to kids cycling at top speed through the pedestrians grrr) and the roads are occupied with tables and chairs for the various bars and cafes. There are many places to eat in the village and a wide selection of menus available. Agios bar is one to visit - definitely. If staying for more than a few days a ferry trip (40 minutes or so) to Sougia is worth trying. Gialiskari is another nice beach along the coast - about an hour's walk or 15 minutes by car.

If you are looking for a small laid back beach town in Crete, this is a greatchoice. Many of the more full service touristy options are on the north side of the island, Palaiochora is on the south. You can drive from Palaichora to Chania in less than 1.5 hours : drive to Heraklion is closer to 3.5 hours.
Plenty of beaches, good food, good people. Not really a party crowd, at least when we were there at the end of the season. There are many options for boat trips, hiking and outdoor activities. Ebikes and similar are easy to rent.

Lovely relaxed seaside town - really chill atmosphere in the evenings with lots of restaurants along the sea front and in main and back streets serving great food and generous extras (bread, olives, small desserts and raki).
We enjoyed a good balance of some hiking (Aghia Irina Gorge was lovely and very quiet), hiring a car to explore the area and a couple of days of swimming, snorkelling and reading on the beach.
I expect Paleochora is heaving n high season, but in Kate September was wonderfully laid back - a few days here and a few in Chania& Rethymno was a really nice balance.
I would stay right in the town next time - lots of small studios advertised along the road from town to harbour looked nice, quiet and close to everything

Palauochora is lovely low key resort with great food and beaches. We really like the vibe of the town which is authentic and friendly. Highly recommended for 3-4 days or longer. Really like the fact that it can be easily accessed by a very efficient bus and ferry service. We’ll definitely be back

Pretty little town with a chilled vibe but still has some action. Excellent cocktail bar in the middle of town. Amazing sunrises on one side and the most stunning sunsets on the other side.
Sandy beaches for those who like that but rocky beaches on the ither side that offer great snorkelling opportunities.
Wonderful location near the ferry port, beautiful beach and restaurants. 10 minute walk to all. Clean and quiet room with all the bathroom amenities, water and sodas in the fridge. Margarita and Valentis were such caring and thoughtful hosts by making sure we had everything we needed when we requested it and made sure we had the perfect parking spot outside the property! Beautiful church next door and lovely to see the families there enjoying their Sunday. Really a magical spot for the perfect stay in Paleochora!
We had a room for 2 with a little balcony and stayed only 2 nights but the stay was amazing. The host was super helpful he recommended several restaurants and bars. The communication was very amicable. The room was clean and cleaned every morning.
The building is located in front of the sea and near the city. There are several supermarkets in the area. The city of Palaiochóra is a very charming and the vibe is unique.
What a pity that we only stayed 2 nights, we wish we'd have stayed longer :(
An absolute gem of a hotel! Right on the front row by the sea, we enjoyed beautiful sunsets from the balcony. The room was tastefully furnished and incredibly cozy.To the center of the village it's just a 5 minutes walk. The owner was exceptionally kind and ensured that we had everything we needed. Our Crete vacation began here, and we loved it so much that we couldn't resist returning for our last 3 days. We highly recommend this place.
Everything was spot on. The location was excellent, easy walk to the restaurants, shops, and beach. Parking was dedicated just in front of the hotel. The room was very comfortable and clean as a whistle with everything we needed. The breakfast was exceptional, it would be impossible to taste everything in the glorious spread, but every bite delicious. The owner was simply delightful.
The villas are out of this world, both in location and comfort. The walk down the Anidri Canyon to the beach is incredible, and coming back up is a very efficient work out! Everything is immaculate and super functional in the property, the terrasse at night is perfect for star gazing. You need a car to get form and to the property, a 10 minutes drive in the mountains from Paleochora.
Wifi was the fastest we had on the entire trip.
Location was nice, across the road from a beach (which was windy while we were there).
Probably the only place on Crete where people actually wore masks.
Breakfast was included, boiled eggs, yogurt, coffee tea fairly typical of Crete breakfasts.
The apartment is big enough to feel free and has everything you need. It was very clean, with modern bathroom and well furnished (not like other 90% apartments on Crete from 80s). There is also a well equipped kitchen as well. We enjoyed to stay in this apartment. It felt like to be home.
Wish we had more than one night at this awesome property. So much space, beautiful beach view, and the decor was just right – simple and nice. We really wanted more time to enjoy everything here, both the property itself and the surrounding area. Can't wait to come back!"
Rula is the best host in Crete! Apartment was very nice, close to the beach and the tavernas, but not in the centre, so it was very quiet there. Rula offered us some cakes, biscuits and spinach pies and everything was excellent! We felt really welcomed:-)
Very nice pool
Super clean
Full-service hotel (bar, food, gym, etc) but with a personalized touch
Well located - on a small street - close to the center.
Dozens of restaurants and 5-10 mins walk to a nice beach
Very good breakfast buffet
The value for money is outstanding because you are located right by the beach, close to restaurants and transportation. Staff was very nice and helpful and answered some of my questions regarding getting to Gialskiari beach.
Lovely room, right next to the sea. Excellent hospitality, Michael provided us with a wealth of local knowledge and suggestions to maximise our time in Palaiochora. We would definitely come back.
Thank you!
It's was right in the centre of Palaiochora.Near the beach.Very close to all the restaurants. The room was cosy and very clean .You can park your car in the streets nearby.
The owner was very kind and helpful.
We stayed here for a single night only, but the room had a wonderful view right next to the beach and the staff prepared a breakfast platter to take to our own balcony and enjoy the peace and quiet.
Everything! The place is close to the beach , the owner of the hotel was amazingly helpful and friendly ! Beautiful area to explore. The room was very spacious and clean , very cool vibes!
This property has everything you need and the staff is extra helpful and nice. We stayed in the new building and it was wonderful. Great location with the beach right across the street.
