The location is unbeatable and the exterior looks fantastic. Public rooms are fine, but the accommodation is not in keeping with the price tag …..at least not in the main house.

Very well kept, pretty seaside town with harbour and long stretch of sandy beach. There is a regular train service to Edinburgh (approx 20 mins) so it is easy to go and spend a day exploring the city. Good coffee shops on the high street (particularly Parkers) and a couple of local craft shops (e.g. The Makery and Found). There are lovely coastal walks especially the one round the cliff but beware on a windy day it can be quite a battle getting round!

Dunbar is a lovely place to visit - lovely walk from the town to Belhaven Bay. Like most wee towns nowadays the town centre is a wee bit tired but there's everything you need and on a good day it's hard to beat. Great for children....the harbour area and beach are clean and well looked after

Great town with some lovely independent shops! The Community Bakery is well worth a visit - the choice is fabulous; highly recommend the Donker rye loaf, the cheese scones, flapjack, the pies, banoffi pie... The list is endless!

A wonderful town, with lots to do, and we were very pleased to find (unexpected) that there was music festival on). The walks were wonderful along the beaches and harbour, with a nice range of shops and cafes to visit when raining. Very friendly response from shop/cafe holders. We visited the John Muir museum which was amazing and the Town House was excellent. Not sure if there is one, but might be good to have a "food review" of the town, with options to go including the cafes, pubs and restaurants, as it felt a bit hit and miss on occasion. Aside from that, great place, we will come again next year.

The folks at the information center where very helpful.
The folks at the information center where very helpful. Dunbar is the birthplace of John Muir, also known as "John of the Mountains" and "Father of the National Parks", was a Scottish-born American naturalist, author, environmental philosopher, botanist, zoologist, glaciologist, and early advocate for the preservation of wilderness in the United States.
The employee at the rail station was down right miserable and gave me a very bad impression of the Scottish people in Dunbar.

Great sea front with cliffs, castle, historic fishing...
Great sea front with cliffs, castle, historic fishing harbour (well, 3 harbours really), and chatty locals. A few top restaurants, and the usual mix of pub food and ethnic. Yes there are chip shops - one of them excellent with sit-in. Rail station with frequent service to Edinburgh. Useful bus service to North Berwick, once you have found which of the information sources has the right times AND ROUTE... Some bus stops advertise services which no longer go to that stop, and the Internet information is unreliable and out-of-date. No problem like that on the trains, but the bus is much quicker to North Berwick, and more scenic - it takes you right to the Seabird Centre on the sea-front.
Perfect location near the harbour.
Clean, spacious and comfortable, with good heaters (really necessary to dry our clothes, as it rained a lot) and very comfortable beds.
Huge and comfortable sofa.
Not far from the main street, where we could buy groceries at Co-op. Short walk (10-15 minutes) from the station.
Dunbar is an amazing place if you like the sea and birdwatching.
Location was perfect with lots of walks on the beach and surrounding the golf course towards Dunbar where we stopped off at the Baywater Hotel in the beer garden with the dog. The chalet also had seating areas where you can get the sun all day. Everything you need in the chalet plus your own parking space which is a bonus.
We absolutely loved staying here and it and Dunbar were highlights of our trip to Scotland. The room was super clean and comfortable with a very nice shower. The hotel's restaurant was top notch for breakfast and dinner, and the bar had a great vibe and patrons. All of the staff were very helpful and professional.
Host was very helpful in providing cot, high chair and big bag of toys for the baby plus milk and a bottle of wine.
Location and view was a real joy.
Dunbar has a pretty historic fishing harbour, with a good range of shops and excellent walks from the apartment
Would strongly recommend.
The caravan was fantastic, really nice and very spacious. We have been to lots of different caravans around the UK and this was the best we’ve been to. Really clean and everything you need. Decking area was fab and the site is lovely. Really great holiday for us and our 3 children.
This is the best hotel location I have ever had; sea view outside window just feet away from water. coastal path walk just outside door. Easy walk from train station to hotel and into town. Good dinner and friendly staff.
Very funky interior, with originality. Super clean everywhere. Nice to share a bathroom with only one other room. Liked the independence of making my own breakfast choices. Location is perfect for a visit to Dunbar.
Location - I was visiting my family who live close by. It is a bit of a walk in to Dunbar High Street (20-30 mins) unless u know the shortcut which takes approximately 15-20).
We loved the kitchen/open area. we loved the retro beachy decor. We especially loved the close proximity to the cliff walk and the John Muir Way access. So very wonderful!
Loved the wooden floors and all the funky furniture touches. Beautiful clean bathroom. I work a lot around the Dunbar area so will definitely be booking again!
