Good location - 5 minute walk to central shopping.
Enough room to store 4 bicycles.
Plenty of space for 4 people to hang out.
Nice big TV.
Great heating - we arrived after being wet all day and were quickly warmed up. The flat has a clothes airer which helped us to dry out all our wet clothes.
Selection of tea and coffee was most appreciated.

Dumfries is a lovely town ,plenty of park facilities to occupy children . Lots to see and do all around ; mountain biking in the forests ( recommend Ae forest with bike hire and cafe) Lots of local history from gunpowder to Robert Burns . Drumlanrig castle near Thornhill well worth a visit . The surrounding hills are beautiful ( get up into the local hills and villages) Nature reserves around the Solway estuary .Easily spend one to two weeks in a 15 mile radius of Dumfries

Beautiful place with a breathtaking view.
Beautiful place with a breathtaking view. Very pretty garden. The house is absolutely gorgeous, very spacious, comfortable furniture everything super clean and brand new. Jan and Colin are the nicest people on earth rescuing us from the back of beyond with two flat tires. I want to come again and stay much longer.

We called in to a few pubs and the locals were all very friendly and chatty even to us English ha ha. The town was clean and we had a nice walk across the river along a park then back again. There was plenty of places to have a drink. We only went for the football at Queen of the South and I would go there again given the chance.

I visited with my young grandchildren to attend the Wigtonshire Book Festival which was a great success, as was the accommodation.
However on the Sunday evening, after the Book Festival, There was nowhere suitable available in Dumfries to take three children for an evening meal before travelling home to Stirling. Quite disappointing.

Incredible diversity of bird species in the Dumfries and Galloway region. 97 in 4 days recorded by our group. Gooseanders, Waxwings and Peregrine Falcons seen in the first half hour in the town centre
The location was near the train station and 5 minutes walk from the town centre. A lovely river walk took you into town if you wanted a longer walk along the river into town. Free parking was available at the side of the hotel,
Lovely bedrooms, clean, well equipped with TV, tea and coffee machine etc. with a large ensuite shower room.
Breakfast was excellent in both quality and value and the staff were happy to give information, and recommendations of places to see and visit.
Stayed with friends as we had a wedding nearby. Rooms where immaculate, bathrooms where spotless. I travel for work & stay in lots of hotels, this was different there was character & both of the owners where just lovely- even asking if we needed them to drop us at the wedding venue. Nothing was a problem for them al all. Really couldn’t recommend enough, was sad to leave! Oh also, breakfast was delicious, a great bonus!
Excellent accommodation. We were upgraded to the private annex as it was our honeymoon which was a lovely surprise. The room was light and airy and very spacious. Warm welcome by Freda(?) and little Faith!
Cooked breakfast the next morning at £5 per person was fabulous - plenty of choice and delicious.
Easy 10 minute walk to most of the restaurants in Dumfries. Good, quiet location.
We had a splendid, spacious room in this lovely 1920s Arts and Crafts house in a quiet suburban neighbourhood. Our room was furnished with a genuine antique four-poster bed with matching wardrobe, all very tasteful. A good full Scottish breakfast set us up for our onward journey. The house is a 0.8 mile walk into the centre of Dumfries
The proprietors of the Hill Hotel were very welcoming, basically could not do enough.
Rooms are clean and freshly renovated, breakfast was plentiful, and tasty I'd say best of our trip.
Would highly reccomend for leisure or business stay in Dumfries.
Great find, we only booked it 30 mins before arriving. Everything ready on arrival.
Traveling down on the last leg of a five day trip through Scotland. Beautiful hotel, great staff and excellent food. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
Great location outside dumfries centre. The 2nd night of our SWC300 coastal route tour.. holiday inns are always a bit higher class and this was a typical stay..big shower and comfy beds
Just what you expect
What a stunning place. A beautifully clean, stylish and comfortable lodge with the added bonus of a hot tub with a view. Perfect base to explore Southwest Scotland and I couldn't have wished for better.
Everything was perfect. I travel for work all over Scotland, and this is easily one of the best I have stayed at. I do not often leave reviews but this place and it's owners are top drawer
