Central location, with restaurants, shops, and the lake all nearby. Very helpful and friendly staff. Large room, with plenty of storage and furniture, and overall clean. Even though it was only a two night stay the room was fully serviced. Parking at the rear worked well on both days, and there is additional parking on the back road if the park is full.

Bala lake itself is obviously the main attraction and that was well visited when we were there but there was plenty of car parking to access along with excellent options for access to the lake from various car parks on both sides of the lake. You could even take a ride on the steam train and get off at an excellent bay in which to canoe, swim, paddle and enjoy a full family day at leisure.

The town has everything that you'd need & the surrounding countryside is beautiful with some easy walks & some for the more adventurous. Water sports, walking & cycling are the main activities on offer & if you're happy with those combined with easy-going restful evenings then you'll love Bala.

I stayed for one night during a three-day cycling tour. Beautiful country around.
White Lion Royal Hotel is a good place to stay, especially if you need an early start, as it serves breakfast early. It also serves excellent pub food - though the kitchen closed early this day, so I missed out.
There are several other places to eat along the High Street, including pizza places and an Indian restaurant.

Disappointed of the town not a bit like we expected. Two nights we ate in a small Bistro just two doors from the hotel, the food was excellent and very friendly staff and service .
It was called Cyfnod Cafe and Bistro.
The food was very good . The room was big and the bathroom was modern. The bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The chef Jordan and the lady serving, Lenkia, produced excellent breakfasts and service. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. The hotel has several public rooms for use such as the bar, lounge and dining rooms. the situation of the hotel was perfect, right in the centre of Bala High Street with pubs, restaurants and shops all within easy reach. The Lake was a short walk away.
The property is located in a veautiful Bala valley. With amazing river view. Caravan is a 6 person capacity with 4 single beds and one double. Good size toilet and shower. Sitting space is also very spacious and comphy to gather around the dinning table. There is Tv, VCR recorder, dryer everything you need out of home.
the host was very pleasant and would deffinatly recomend the stay.
Lovely hotel, excellent food, staff very friendly, helpful and approachable. Breakfast very good and a varied menu. Food in the Huntsman Bar and Bistro was excellent and so was the 7 course Tasting menu in the Henry Robertson Dining Room. Stayed in the Beaumaris Turret Room lovely and clean, bottled water and Mead complimentary which was a nice touch, Tea and coffee also available.
We loved the location and the cottage. It is situated in a quiet area not to far from Bala and the lake, about an hours drive from Snowdon. The cottage was roomy and well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. We loved the build BBQ, the deck wooden deck and the enclosed private backyard where our border collie could have some fun. .
Bala is a very quiet town, in the middle of a beautiful area and sitting right next to a lake. There were plenty of wonderful local places to eat, and the pastry shop right around the corner was exceptional. The manager provided very easy and clear directions on where to park, and the house had everything that we needed. The beds were comfortable.
Such a beautiful hotel. This is something special. We stayed in the Queen Victoria Room which was simply as wonderful as it is historic. The grounds are perfectly manicured and we loved watching the rabbits on the lawn.
The food was very good and the staff was just incredible.
Everything! Location is excellent to explore the Lake Bala area, and also in the Snodonia area as well. The place is small, but well designed and with everything you may need! Comfortable beds, privacy, amazing view, stream on the side with constant water flow. Blessed space!
Beautiful setting. Balcony overlooking lake was great. Moonrise over lake was gorgeous. Apartment was very clean and comfortable. Several good pubs and restaurants in Bala and easy access to grocery store. And Beatrice was exceptionally helpful and pleasant to interact with.
The Hotel was very cosy, the food was really good we had breakfast in with our rooms. We had our evening meals at the hotel and was a very popular restaurant with the locals which tells me the food is good. The staff were so friendly we really enjoyed our stay.
The house was a rustic, traditional, North-Walian farmhouse in a superb location. It felt rural and peaceful yet it was only a 5 minute drive from facilities in Bala. A great base for sight-seeing in Gwynedd. We would definitely return.
We came here for a wedding at Bala lake hotel. the property was lovely and clean. very close to shops but also very quiet and peaceful. had a washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen and good quality towels and bedding.
Everything was what you need for holiday, great location, amazing views, private back garden, well equipped kitchen, lovely patio area, close to town and Bala lake. 1hr drive from Snowdonia summit.
Couldn't have asked for a better location - right on the edge of Lake Bala with everything in walking distance! Cosy little cottage with the added bonus of a lovely cafe on the doorstep!
