The hotel is situated on the edge of a quiet, residential area of the town. The garden is lovely to sit and relax in, and the breakfast is very nice too.

We technically stayed in Orscholz, which is a smaller hamelt of Mettlach. It's right where the Saarschleife is as well as a number of biking and hiking trails. We only did the Saarschleife and the Spielplatz, but could have spent a couple days there!

Mettlach is a charming small town in Germany with many good shops. The church is also impressive. There are a lot of very nice hikes easily accessible from there offering tranquility and interesting landscape alongside the river Saar, for example. Burg Montclair, the remains of a castle on the hill, is also accessible and you can get coffee and cake until the end of October.

The beautiful hikes around Mettlach along the Saar and the serenity of the area make this place one of my favorite. Everyone is so friendly. Such a perfect hidden Gem to stumble upon! Hotel Saarblick is definitely worth the cost and a hike along the Cloefpfad is a must!

It's not Paris.
It's not Paris. A great place to combine a bit of neglected culture (what do YOU know about the history of the toilet bowl?) with great areas for walks and explorations. And don't forget the food...
The setting is wonderful--an early 20th century industrialist's home set in a huge meadow-like park on the bank of the Saar river. The building was constructed with excellent materials: oak parquet floors. marble wainscotting. coffered wooden beam ceilings in the public rooms. All the tableware at dinner and breakfast in the formal dining rooms are excellent: not a surprise when I learned that it owned by the Villeroy & Boch company, whose factory in Mettlach makes it all!
We were delighted with the queit and idylic location of the guest house: in its own park, looking back over the river towards lovely Mettlach. The guesthouse was also charming and had a real sense of history and the Belle Epoch about it. The Villeroy & Boch wares in use and on display were welcome. We had a pleasant meal in the restaurant and were very appreciative of the staff member's wine knowledge and recommendation: the 'Black Print' from Pfalz was delicious!
The hotel is wonderful and fantastic, the staff are very welcoming, helpful, polite and so friendly, the hotel is amazing, lovely decorated, so clean and looked after, has everything you need and more, the restaurant food is wonderful, the rooms are lovely decorated spotless clean , have everything you need, beds are comfy, pool area is lovely , breakfast is amazing with so much choices, amazing hotel, have stayed quiet a few times and will be going back
Very charming house, our room under the roof was spacious and cozy, nicely decorated in an old-fashioned style. The owner of the house is very friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom has everything you need. We particularly enjoyed the location of Mettlach and its proximity to some really stupendous estates of the Villeroy & Boch company and family. The Saar river is also a definite plus. I definitely recommend.
The castle and the grounds are stunning. Beautiful surroundings as well, with the cozy main street of Mettlach just a 5 minutes walk away.
The rooms are very pretty (we had a suite, and the bathroom was like on a magazine cover), and you can enjoy a very stylish breakfast on lovely V&B porcelains.
A truly chateau stay!
Good for a one night stay. Walk in shower was superb. Room very spacious. Restaurant waiter very helpful. Breakfast in bakery next door, also owned by the hotel owners, was very good and fresh. Interesting small town steeped in the Villeroy Boch Pottery empire if you have time to look around.
The apartment (#301) is our go-to stop and should be yours if you are with a group of three people. The breakfast is nice, as are all German breakfasts, and the restaurant in the hotel is excellent. Easy free parking and super central location.
Haus 8 has a gorgeous open-concept living area for gathering with family. The hosts were welcoming and helpful. Just down the street is a pedestrian bridge across the Saar river which links to a terrific path for runs and many hiking trails.
Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and art in style. The hotel is in a good location, next to the river and very simply walk to the center. You can park your car in front of the hotel or easily get public transport as well.
This was a real gem of a find. Beautiful Hotel building set in its own grounds with its own river frontage. Not far off the motorway so a great plvcae to stop on a drive down through Europe.
Perfect 1 night stay for us...was right next to the Saarschleife which is why we were there. Breakfast was great, and they specially identify "Kinder" friendly items.
Fine location by the river and close to the centre of Mettlach. Free and easy parking. Good breakfast with fresh ingredients. Very friendly and service-oriented staff.
Excellently refurbished hotel and beds in a perfect location, the best hotel in the area (we have stayed at all other principal hotels in Mettlach outlets area.
