I liked the old town, with cobblestone streets. I visited a lot of the typical tourist places like the clock and Bern’s Bears. I’d recommended taking a walk along the river and travelling to any high points to look over the town. The transport system is amazing and the hostel I stayed in gave me a transport code so I could use it freely.
I woke up early so got to see a lot of the town before others but by about 11am it was rammed everywhere and some tourists could be quite rude.

We did a wonderful walking tour with an excellent guide which gave us a great overview of the city. We highly recommend taking a walking tour.
We loved everything about the Old Town. It was raining some of the time we were there and the beautiful arcades kept us dry.
We were lucky to be there when they had the light show on the Parliament Building which was magical. Hotel Akomo Bern was a very short walk to the Parliament Building.
We had dinner in two excellent restaurants - one Italian and one Swiss.

Bern is such a lovely city, especially the older part.
Bern is such a lovely city, especially the older part. The older streets with the arcades are amazing to wander about. Free public transport is such a good idea and allows you to explore further, such as Gurten, which is a really nice area to go for a walk. The walk along the Aare River is also lovely and can be done at any time of the year. There is a brilliant mix of city life and nature. Plus the Swiss chocolate is always good.

Chirstmas ambiance at Bern was really great.
Chirstmas ambiance at Bern was really great. Christmas market (chalet with Fondue) was nice too.
Also, in summer time, don't forget to swim in the Aare river (strong current can hold/push you). Go to Marzili Platz to enjoy it.
Really funny (requires some swim skills of course, not for babies/beginners).

Excellent place to ride a bike or take a walk. If you prefer public transportation look no further:) Bern, and Switzerland in general has excellent railway system.
Many things to do in the summer (I recommend floating down the river Aare).
In Winter if you are fond of skiing Canton of Bern offers many ski resorts in Swiss alps.

Bern is beautiful!
Bern is beautiful! We had two days there, and it was enough, but I know there are some activities just out of town if you want to stay a little longer. We recommend it for couples, families with kids and even solo travelling. The city is just perfect.
Staff were excellent at check-in. All facilities in the room were very good. Clean, comfortable and spacious. on each level there was a room that catered for everyone - tea/coffee room, play room for children, office with computer/printer etc. The breakfast available in the morning was first class. The variety on offer was excellent. A great way to start the day of sightseeing in Bern. Centrally located and very easy to access from Bern Bahnhof. A very good selection of restaurants near the hotel.
The hotel is conveniently located, great set of restaurants all around. The staff is simply wonderful and I cannot stop raving about them. Right from checkin to support provided to fix our baggage handle issue was outstanding. Similarly when we connected with the reception to be able to heat some food and she was so very helpful. I must say that this was the best service that I experience in all of my 15 days stay in Switzerland. The bed sheets were always crispy white.
Friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast. Room is a bit small, but clean and practical.
Near to Tram and Bus stop, less than a minute walking distance from hotel. Bern City Pass provided is a bonus.

The breakfast was varied and delicious. There was so much choice! The building and the design of the inside of the hotel was delightful and unique. All staff were fantastic. Kamilla went out of her way to make us happy and comfortable. She is truly a great asset to your Company. We will never stay anywhere else when we are in Bern.
Hotel Savoy is in an excellent location - in Bern Old Town and literally 3 min walk from the Hauptbahnhof. Lots of restaurants, bars and shops are in a short walking distance. Rooms are freshly refurbished, very clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast selection is fairly standard, but sufficient and good quality.
Always a good stay here! We've been staying at this hotel for a couple of years now, every time we visit Bern. The quality does not seem to have changed in time. Spotless clean, good breakfast, really comfy beds. We particularly appreciate the 24h reception and bar. Keep up the good work, guys!
Nice hotel in a very quiet distrit in Bern. The bus station is just in front of the hostel.
As is típical in Switzerland you will get a transport ticket for bus and tram that covers the city center and the historical district.
The breakfast is also good.
I definetively recommend this hostel.
The property is at the heart of old town Bern. close to many restaurants. there is also a grocery shop close to the hotel.walking distance to the train station. the bed is comfortable for a good night sleep. the coffee machine is a plus.
The hotel has a good quality to price ratio- as for Switzerland of course;) The breakfast was decent, the room was clean and spacious with all the necessary facilities but iron. I like the idea of drinks and cake available at all times!
All great here - I love this hotel. A 20 minute walk from the old town or just a 7 minute tram ride, a great peaceful place to base your stay in Bern. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made some great suggestions.
The Hotel is in a perfect location. It was my favorite zone at Bern. The staff is very friendly and the room had a fantastic view of the bridge and the city.
We really enjoyed our stay and will come back next time.
the staff was very friendly and helpful.
the views from the room were nice.
the breakfast buffet is worth the price (specially in Switzerland).
the Asian restaurant inside the hotel was nice too.
We enjoyed spending the night in this place, The host was really welcoming, he offered us light breakfast and warm conversation about Switzerland. We would definitely stay there again 🙂
Fantastic location, with top sights in Bern within walking distance. Checkout at noon only. Also underground parking available. Free public transport ticket (as for all hotels in Bern)
Very clean, well equipped, spacious and fuss free check in. The supermarket below is very convenient. Accessible to trams and trains to city centre and other parts of Switzerland.
Very close to Bernexpo, free transportation in the city while you are staying in the hotel ( that's the swiss law everywhere) , staff really friendly, clean.
Awesome room with kitchen. We loved it here. free bus pass for area was handy. Aldi across form hotel was a plus as eating out in Switzerland is pricey!
