Location was very good, within 20 minutes by foot, or 5 minutes by car, from city centre. Host and his brother were nice and helpful. Great experience. Thank you

Situated 16 km from Venetian Walls, Dioni Stone House features accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. Probably the first place where we stayed where the reality exceeds the property photos. This is a gem! Beautiful, tastefully restored little house in a quiet remote village which is really close to Heraklion by car, just in 10 minutes you suddenly find yourself in a different world than the touristy seashore, a piece of traditional, rural Crete. But be aware, you do need a car - which is cheap to rent in Crete anyway. The owners left some tasty local products for us (honey, butter, marmalade, some bakery product, olive oil, even raki!) so we didn't have to care about the first breakfast. There is a place to park just in front of the house which is very convenient. (Don't be shy on the narrow streets that leads there, the car will fit).

Villa Strata (a path to Psiloritis mountain) is located in Kardhamianá, 38 km from Heraklion Archaeological Museum, 41 km from The Palace of Knossos, and 23 km from Phaistos. Villa Strata was an amazing stay, super clean and fully equipped. We stayed there for one night and immediately fell in love with the place, the house, the village and the locals. Michalis was an excellent host, always available for help and recommendations and he made us feel at home. Can't wait to come back!

Offering a garden and garden view, flamingo colour valey house is located in Palekastron, 500 metres from Maridati Beach and less than 1 km from Kouremenos Beach. Amazing stay and fantastic location! Costas is a very warm and helpful host. The house is located in an olive grove a few 100 meters from the calm beach of Maridati (and 1 min from the Maridatis restaurant) where you can go snorkeling as there are a lot of fish! The house is spacious and comfortable, it has a small terrace with a view of the surrounding. You will see nothing except the occasional sheep, rabbit or 'house' cat which we befriended. If you enjoy a quiet and totally relaxing stay, very close to an amazing and less known beach with few people and great swimming in cristal clear and calm waters, then don't hesitate. On top of that you have a taverna close by with amazing hosts (Eleni and Manolis) and great food. We will be back. Thank you, Costas, for the warm welcome and your kindness!

A recently renovated property, Mare suites 1 is situated in Chania Town near Koum Kapi Beach, Nea Chora Beach and Saint Anargyri Church. Fantastic location with everything you need in the apartment. Lovely view from the balcony and very peaceful to sit and relax. Marina the host was extremely helpful with local recommendations for food in the area and was very easy to communicate with and always replied to messages immediately. It is about 8 mins walk into the old town but there are many nice restaurants at the doorstep and it’s nice and peaceful during the day and evening and very quiet at nighttime to enjoy an uninterrupted sleep. Marina left us some lovely gifts of a cake, wine, flowers and a selection of local products as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and it will be such a memorable one. We would definitely recommend this property and if we return to Chania we would definitely stay here again.

Set in Episkopí- Rethimno, Mikro Livadi Special Lodges - Has an Eco Salt water pool - 150m from the beach offers a garden and sun terrace. Chania Town is 34 km away. Very nice original Crete family hostality. Excelent meals of good quality food raised by local farms.

My recent stay at this charming wooden cottage nestled in the tranquil Cretan countryside was nothing short of idyllic. Set away from the hustle and bustle of city life and the usual tourist spots, it offers the perfect balance of seclusion and accessibility. The attractions and the sea are conveniently reachable, ensuring that you are not too isolated from the vibrant local life. The cottage itself, though compact, exudes a warm and inviting atmosphere, making it an exceptionally cozy place to live. Each morning and evening, I had the pleasure of dining outdoors in the garden, enjoying meals while gazing out at the rolling hills dotted with olive groves and the distant sea—pure bliss. The outdoor fire pit added a rustic touch to my evenings, perfect for grilling local produce under the starlit sky. One of the highlights was undoubtedly the alfresco cold-water shower, which provided a refreshing and almost ethereal experience under the moon's glow. The hosts were incredibly hospitable, eager to share their knowledge of the area and point out hidden gems that enhanced my visit.
