Lised in Riobamba guided us to the lodge as Google Maps sent us on a wild goose chase. Upon arrival, Leandro was there to help us with our bags and get us installed in our room. when we arrived to the dining hall, he had a beautiful fire going in the fireplace. After serving us a beer, he and his team prepared a delicious tilapia dinner with fresh veggies and dulce de babaco for dessert. Couldn't have been better. Breakfast in the morning was equally as good and the staff was totally friendly and accommodating the decoration of the dining hall was fantastic with all kinds of climbing paraphernalia lots and lots of wood. we had a spectacular view of Chimborazo

Set in Cotopaxi National Park, 6 km from the entrance, Chilcabamba Lodge has comfortable rooms charming with rustic-style décor. A daily breakfast with cereals and fruits is included and there is an on-site restaurant with regional cuisine. Although access is difficult, this Lodge is really worth it. It's, first of all, a great base for visiting the Cotopaxi area! The staff is super friendly and always ready to help. The best canelazo was offered to us at our arrival, and we were lodged even before check-in time. Rooms are very clean and have a wood stove, which the staff lights daily. How relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of burning wood! Chilcabamba lodge also organizes excursions. We hired them to visit the Cotopaxi refuge and surroundings. We cannot but recommend our guide, Patricio, very friendly and always ready to comment on what life is like in the páramo and the sierra. As for the meals, breakfast is very good and complete (fruit, juice, yogurt and granola, eggs, etc.), and dinner, by candlelight, very tasty. We would come back without hesitation!

This property also features a TV (DirectTV - Netflix) in the common areas. Walking distance to Quilotoa lagoon, made it very easy to go there first thing in the morning. Breakfast and dinner included were delicious and filling. Bed comfortable and fire place kept us warm at night. Owner very helpful and patient even though we don't speak Spanish. We arrived after 8:30PM to check in and provided us dinner.
