Although access is difficult, this Lodge is really worth it. It's, first of all, a great base for visiting the Cotopaxi area! The staff is super friendly and always ready to help. The best canelazo was offered to us at our arrival, and we were lodged even before check-in time. Rooms are very clean and have a wood stove, which the staff lights daily. How relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of burning wood! Chilcabamba lodge also organizes excursions. We hired them to visit the Cotopaxi refuge and surroundings. We cannot but recommend our guide, Patricio, very friendly and always ready to comment on what life is like in the páramo and the sierra. As for the meals, breakfast is very good and complete (fruit, juice, yogurt and granola, eggs, etc.), and dinner, by candlelight, very tasty. We would come back without hesitation!
