The house is more beautiful than the pictures show and had the best scrambled eggs in my life there. Hot water was available which I loved and breakfast was served at the rooftop which had an amazing view of the sand dunes

This historical Arabian-style building is located in the UNESCO-listed town of Lamu. It is less than 300 metres from the seafront and 3 km from the white sandy beach. I loved the atmosphere and history of this place. Warm welcome from the hosts and staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner with fresh natural ingredients. I also enjoyed the location in the centre of the old town but a few steps from the waterfront

The house is a beautiful gem within old lamu town. The architecture is stunning, the rooms are freshened by fans and the pool is great to escape the day’s heat. The house staff is incredibly helpful and Peter was a great caretaker. We would also warmly recommend arranging a tour of the old town and of shela, as well as a boat tour if one wishes, with Abu. Abu is knowledgeable and loves his job; he is a great storyteller and a great artist (ask to see his recycled art). Walking around Lamu with him and learning about this unique place from him was a wonderful experience.

Price point was spot on! Location fantastic and conveniently close to the airport. Dinner next door at Lamu House was exceptional. Nice alternative to the more expensive Shella.

Wildebeeste Lamu erbjuder rum i Lamu nära 18th Century Swahili House Museum och Riyadha Mosque. This hostel is located in a gorgeous old Swahili style house. The manager is the BEST. So helpful he even had me picked up at the airport. It is located in the center of Lamu town really close to everything. Rooms are quite big. WiFi worked very well.

The design in this property is amazing, beautiful. The indoor pool is exquisite. The staff was excellent and the apartments large and comfortable.
