La ubicación, el dueño y la limpieza. Casa Helena se encuentra justo a los pies del volcan, en un pueblecito donde la gente es super amable. El dueño fue lo mejor, nos ayudo con el guia para subir al volcan, con el transporte y todo lo que necesitamos. La habitación estaba muy limpia, consta de cama, baño y una terrazita. La comida que preparaba Helena estab buenisima. Recomiendo este alojamiento, si algun dia volvemos a Fogo, repetiremos sin duda.

Ciza e Rose está en Portela y dispone de vistas a la ciudad, jardín, salón de uso común, terraza y restaurante. Algunas unidades tienen balcón y/o patio. Of course, the Guesthouse is not comparable to a 3Stars hotel but when you come to this kind of place, Ciza e Rose is exactly the kind of Guesthouse you expect! Rose was born here, he is the right man at the right place and his family is very nice. Rose can speak many languages, including french. The rooms are simple but have all you need. They are big, quiet and all around a patio. Board games are available and we could play Awale and learn a new way to play with Michael, the son. The breakfast was really good and a bit different each day, with cakes... We got a lot of explanations from Rose, who is also a guide if you need. Communication was really easy with them, even before arriving. A "collectivos" picked us up at the airport and Rose organized another one to drop us to Sao Filipe. We eat at the Guesthouse in the evenings. At midday, we went several times to Isabel Restaurant ( actually Isabel is Rose's sister but we didn't know it the first time!). By the way, Rose has 6 brothers/sisters at Portela.

Pensao Zé Doce está en Portela y ofrece bar. Este bed and breakfast tiene jardín y parking privado gratis. Hay toallas y ropa de cama en el bed and breakfast. We took room with bathroom and shower. Room was absolutely amazing. José was there for all our needs. He is a man with golden heart for people. He also guided us to Pico. I highly recommend

Pipi's Guest House se encuentra en São Filipe y ofrece wifi gratis, jardín, terraza y bar. Playa de São Filipe está a 2,4 km del alojamiento. The house is beautiful and the location is perfect. It is better than the pictures.There's always a breeze from the sea, the pool is refreshing, the view of the volcano and the sea at the same time just stunning. Pipi and her family/team are perfect hosts. We are vegetarians and didn't expect much, then we had three super nice dinners and the most beautiful breakfasts with lots of possibilities. Really hope to go back there some day.

Casa Ze & sonia está en Portela y tiene vistas a la montaña, wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. Hay un baño privado totalmente equipado con ducha y artículos de aseo gratuitos. Ze and Sonia were super nice, friendly and accommodating. They could speak French relatively well. The room is simple but functional. The meals prepared were very delicious. The WiFi was good to work from there, and in case, the 4G antenna is located nearby. Absolutely recommended!

The host Lea was super helpful before we even got there. She answered all my questions very quickly and provided lots of information. They arranged the shuttle service for us as well as a guide to climb up the volcano. João himself is a guide and you can book him. Obviously the location is perfect and you have a beautiful view of the volcano right from the room. Make sure to eat at Isabella's next door, her food is delicious and she was such a warm and wonderful person. All in all it was a wonderful experience!

Yulia was an incredible host. We took our time to have a deep conversation with her about life in Fogo. She made us feel like part of her family, she shared with us all Cape Verdean values. She is an incredible cook and an amazing woman who made this journey very special for us. The dinner was massive and extremely delicious, her chicken in tomato sauce and the vegetarian cabbage dish left us speechless. Yulia appears to be a respected member of Mosteiros society and people spoke very well of her, her neighbours gave us fruit for free and were happy to chat with us. If you speak Spanish and you are patient enough, Mosteiros and Yulia can offer you an unforgettable experience.

Tortuga B&B está a pocos pasos de Playa de São Filipe y ofrece alojamiento con restaurante, jardín, terraza y bar. Se ofrece wifi gratis. Treasured the breathtaking expansive black sand beach surrounded by mountains and basically having it to ourselves. Peacefulness. Roberto (and his cute dogs) are attentive hosts. He proudly provided a fine dining experience. This was a very natural experience in the outdoor bungalow, beach and tropical grounds compared to the large chain resorts that we normally stay at. Loved the very memorable two days there and great overall value.
