Located in Capurganá in the Choco region, Mi Cabaña El Maderal has a garden. It is situated 400 metres from Capurganá Beach and features a lift. The family that run the Cabana are the best. Very helpful and relaxed and they do washing too! They also generously let us pay via PayPal because there is no cash machine in the village and we were low on cash. ( We are stupid British tourists). They have the most adorable dog and cats! The breakfast pizza we had was the best breakfast we've had from any hostel we have stayed in this trip! I don't usually write reviews regularly but because the family went above and beyond for us. :) Thank you! Bryn and Emma x

Located on the beachfront in Bahía Solano, Refugio Mr Jerry Eco Hostal has a terrace. The property features sea and inner courtyard views. Adrián is an amazing host and we had a wonderful time staying at Mr Jerry. It's a very nice hostal, with a lot of love to details, delicious food, very relaxed and amazing to spend a few days and unwind. Will come back!

Located in El Valle, The Pelican House Hostel offers beachfront accommodation a few steps from Playa El Almejal and provides various facilities, such as a fitness centre, an open-air bath and a... helpful staff, very kind. Nice view

The Hill B&B (El Morro Hosteria) offers pet-friendly, beachfront accommodations in El Valle - Bahia Solano. The best place we stayed. Monica Was really nice. We felt like home. Incredible view and location. Great cats and dog. Amazing room with beach view. Everything clean. Big bathroom with a lot of space for our stuff. We felt so welcomed... we will come back:-)

Facing the seafront in Nuquí, Popochos Beach Eco-Lodge has a garden. The campground features family rooms. The units at the campground are fitted with a seating area. Wow, what an amazing place! Both the lodge and the area itself. It was way better and way less complicated and "rough" than I thought so I'll leave a detailed review. I flew to Nuqui from Medellin EOH in 30 min with Clic air/ex-EasyFly (which I recommend, they have new ATRs, bigger planes than others flying here which is helpful if you get turbulence along the way). Flights were on time both ways. After you pay the Nuqui entrance tax, you turn slightly left and then right and walk 2-300 meters to the tourist port/muelle turístico. Claro and Tigo have coverage here but if you have another Colombian SIM you are covered too due to Roaming Automático Nacional (I got H+ speeds with my SIM from WOM, not sure if having a SIM from Claro gets you 4G or the same; speed was enough for browsing and posting pics, don't think it works for video call). Previously you would have messaged the host (on wapp) who sends a boat/lancha to pick you up. 2-3$ and 10 min later (this trips itself is nice) you are at the lodge. The tent I had was right by the beach and the area had hammocks and a comunal, new and clean, bathroom/shower area. Shower water is not hot but not cold either, it feels fresh. You can buy food, drinks, water, coconut etc from the host, very affordable. This stretch of beach can be reached only by boat and the accommodation is the only one in the area so you'll have kms of beach by yourself (+ crabs/cangrejos haha). It's very easy to travel to Nuqui, the lancha that got you here can be called for you by the host (Niqui has more places to eat, grocery stores, pharmacy etc so no need to overplan things like I did haha; host can help you to even get food delivery from Nuqui!). The whale watching tour that the host booked for me was very nice too and not only it includes whale (and dolphins!) watching but it also goes to a nice, more populated beach area and to Termales.

Boasting a garden, bar and views of garden, Reciclarte Galería Hostal is set in Capurganá, 100 metres from Capurganá Beach. The country house has family rooms. The owner was very helpful and always willing to help. Also, its not to far from the town center so you can walk to and from. Also, the outdoor/indoor showers were surprisingly refreshing and definitely a highlight of the hostel! Also, wifi is surprisingly good considering how remote the town is.

A recently renovated guest house, HOSPEDAJE DOÑA NEL offers accommodation in El Valle. Located on the beachfront, this property features a private beach area, a garden, a terrace and free WiFi. Everything was great and the price-quality ratio is simply outstanding. The room was very clean and cozy (more than it appeared from the pictures), the food was excellent, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Of course the locations right on the beach is lovely and strongly increases your chances or seeing whales and turtles! It is true that the tide makes the hotel inaccessible at some hours, but as far as we understood this is the same for all hotels located on the beach. Moreover, the owners helped us to know at what time we needed to leave every time we went on an excursion or when we left. So finally it was not too problematic thanks to them.

Situated just 500 metres from Capurganá Beach, HOSTAL EL DESCANSO features accommodation in Capurganá with access to a garden, a shared lounge, as well as a tour desk. The owner was amazing!! He brought us coffee, was super smiley and made us feel super at home. The rooms were perfect and it was such a good price!

Featuring a garden, terrace and views of garden, Hostal Portal Del Sol is set in Capurganá, less than 1 km from Capurganá Beach. Portal del Sol is a hidden jewel! It is run by the most adorable couple, Carlos and Maricela, who were very helpful, attentive to the needs of their guests, and kind. Portal del Sol is tucked away in a lush garden setting and is located adjacent to the Sapzurro trailhead. It is quiet and peaceful, and an easy 10 minute walk to the center of Capurgana and to the beach. When I first arrived, Carlos gave me a tour of Capurgana, pointing out places to eat, swim, shop and how to find my way back to Portal del Sol. Hint! Look for the blue wall. My room was clean and simple with everything a person needs to be comfortable - bed, fan, shower and toilet. Now let’s talk about the breakfasts. THE BREAKFASTS!!! They were incredible, with something different and unique every day, including fresh juice from one of Carlos and Maricela’s many fruit trees. Breakfast often included a traditional Colombian dish, too. So good and filling, you won’t need to eat again until dinnertime. And you get to enjoy your breakfast in their lovely garden - the perfect way to start your day! Portal del Sol is a small establishment, with just 3 (or maybe 4 ) cabins. Everything was well-cared for, tidy and super safe. I stayed at Portal del Sol six nights and could have easily stayed much longer because it was so comfortable and because of the hospitality of Carlos and Maricela.
