Everything. I really have no words to describe the perfection of the Old Stables room (loft? Mini-apartment?) I would happily live there forever. The room was huge, beautifully decorated in a fabulous equestrian motif (the Farrier is at the original blacksmith shop), sparkling clean, and too many amenities to list. The food is delicious and plentiful. We had the full English breakfast and it set us up for the whole day! Everyone on staff were really lovely and so kind. I wish we could’ve stayed for more than one night!

Love Scarborough so much. My husband and I got married there last year. We make sure we go at least once a year and this year stayed at the south cliff and found a cliff lift we didn't know about so that was a bonus as husband suffers with back pain and finds it hard to walk up hill. But this meant we didn't need to use public transport and taxis.

Scarborough is a beautiful seaside town, it has everything you need to have a relaxed holiday or lots to do for the kids! Peasholm park is a beautiful place with a huge lake and forest trails and a model ship naval battle in the summer! you can see squirrels running around, and loads of different insects! there's an app you can get to search for dinosaurs its great! Or you can spend the day on the beach with the donkeys! take a pirate ship trip around the bay or ride a speedboat! open top buses are every 20 minutes back and forth to the park and sea life centre too.
The town has lots of shops everything you need if self catering too, great bars and restaurants and of course lots of fish and chip shops!

Scarborough has something for everyone.
Scarborough has something for everyone. The north shore where I stayed is quieter but has the castle at one end and the sealife centre at the other. The miniature railway and park are nearby. The beach is clean and dog friendly ( they are not allowed in high season). The south shore has the amusements, more tourists shops and the pier. There are boat tours you can book here too. There are many museums to visit, one ticket to visit them all. If self catering, many small store and supermarkets are around along with the main town centre where you will find a variety of local artisan shops and restaurants as well as more mainstream ones.

Like many seaside towns Scarborough is run down and dirty it attracts many people who are looking for seasonal work but often have social problems making for an unpleasant atmosphere in the streets. There is a virtual plague of Seagulls they are everywhere fighting, squawking among themselves dive bombing in the streets aggressively pinching food, bird droppings adorn all the buildings and the streets. It would not harm the birds to move them by not allowing them to nest on buildings. There is not much to do in the town other than eat, drink and play the penny slots. The shopping is very poor. The beach is very nice and the park also. The water park is currently closed. The outdoor theatre does have very good concerts in the summer and would be the only reason to come back. Dog lovers should love the town but it's not for me.

A beautiful little town with so much to offer, we were booked for only 2 nights but we were so lucky because the weather was very good, I went down to the beach at sunrise and it was so calm and relaxing and not cold at all.
There is so much to see and do but just didn't have time, planning on coming back soon.
Large and comfy bed and the facilities were good. The room was a good size so made it easy to unpack and move around. LED lights were a good touch and very clean room. Staff were excellent and kind. 15 minute drive from Scarborough Beach which is why we stayed at this location and it was cheaper than other hotels which were closer to the beach. Always managed to find parking right outside the hotel which was nice especially on a weekend.
Far exceeded my expectations after reading previous reviews in here. It is by far the only decent Britannia hotel we have stayed in (deffo avoid The Grand in Scarborough). The location fir Scarborough Open Air Theatre was perfect. The staff were lovely. The room was very clean, & although the double bed was tiny it was very comfy! Yes the hotel building is old & could do with maintenance but the staff are doing their best!
Our 3rd time here, we would never stay anywhere else when we come to Scarborough, it's perfect for my family. They think of everything. Steven, Margaret and their son are all delightful, so friendly and helpful. Ashburton House is firmly in my children's memories, and my son says it's his best holiday. Which makes me laugh as he has been to universal also this year.
Literally the best place I’ve stayed in Scarborough.
From the point of booking to checkout everything was perfect. Every member of staff was polite and helpful and did everything to make our stay special.
The hotel itself is quirky and stylish and the bar/restaurant and lounges are exceptional!
I really cannot recommend this hotel enough!!
We had a lovely time at the Catania, the small double was perfect for our needs and the breakfast was very good and catered well for me as a vegetarian. The hotel is overlooking the bay and a stride from lots of amenities, Peasholme Park and the best chippy in Scarborough. We shall return to lovely Scarborough and the Catania. xxx
A very warm welcome from the hosts Zsuzsanna and Kevin. Lovely sea view from my room and my bed was so comfy. The breakfast was probably the best I've ever had in a hotel and it set me up for most of the day. Spent three nights at The Leeway and I will definitely stay there again when next in Scarborough.
Stayed in standard double lovely comfy bed. Clean. Fresh towels. Lovely hot well flowing shower. The Spa facilities are fantastic all in with the daily room basic too. Definitely best hotel in Scarborough. Had a lovely meal in the restaurant all good, all lovely staff a credit to the Hotel.
The hotel was a lovely place to stay for a few nights and the rooms had everything you needed. Staff members were friendly and willing to help you out in the best way possible. The location of the hotel was ideal, you had all of Scarborough on your doorstep.
The hotel is beautiful and in a lovely location not far from Scarborough. It is a very quiet setting in a lovely little village - the grounds are wonderful.
The room was very clean and the bed was comfy.
The staff were all very welcoming and helpful.
We liked the destination of the hotel. It was our second visit to the hotel. We prefer the sea view room as the other side of the hotel had lots more noise so its not as peaceful. Always got clean towels and more tea and coffee when wanted.
Not my first stay with Britannia but first stay grand, was good would stay again, I had stayed royal before but this time grand was cheaper, as said was going for hospital appointment so best stay hotel, would stay again I f needed too
Me and the misses love the vintage deco,
Lovely classy hotel with a warm touch to it.. staff are very polite and friendly, lovely location with sea view and close to the city center, 5min walk.. wish I stayed longer but we be back.
The location of the hotel was excellent. And within easy walking distance of city centre and both bays. Although limited parking there was ample street parking available at minimal cost. The room was ok although a bit small
A nice hotel with helpful staff and in a perfect location in Scarborough. I would recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Scarborough. A nice view from the first floor roof top as well
Lovely hotel absolutely spotless great hosts and beautiful breakfast rooms very nicely decorated and comfortable in best location in Scarborough loved every min x
