Tangier is off the beaten path for tourists.
Tangier is off the beaten path for tourists. The old section was busy and the vendors are willing to bargain. It still has an older airport but for the little town they were adequate. The hotel arranged for a larger taxi and the drivers were fluent in French but not so much English. It was a laid back time with no one begging. The city had plain clothed police in the tourist areas but it was kind of cute because they were in plain clothes but had a red arm band stating they were police.

We traveled during Ramadam (on a budget) so most cafes were closed during the day, except those in heavy tourist areas, but this meant less tourists, so all in all a positive experience. The water was turned off in the Medina on two of the four mornings we were there, so I would recommend staying outside the Medina but close to it. Small dars and riads have steep stairs and no elevators so not a great option for everyone, but they have the most charm and hospitality. The Kasbah area is very nice with beautiful views.

Tangier has a special place in my heart!
Tangier has a special place in my heart! I've made so much realisations here. Indeed, a beautiful and warm place with such hospitality can help those people struggling with their mental health to realign their aspirations in life and eventually open themselves up to the rest of the world. I might not have been to a lot of places in Tangier due to short stay, the tranquility of this place helped me a lot more than any of my stay elsewhere. This is not just a holiday for me, it was a precious set of memories amongst a sea of negativities I am facing everyday that I will hold on to, to reach a better place not just for myself, though it seems like a selfish way of indulgence in the eyes of many which they would never understand.
Thank you

I love Tangier, it was the highlight of my stay in Morocco.
I love Tangier, it was the highlight of my stay in Morocco. It was beautiful, I felt like I was in an Indiana Jones movie. The only downside was the parking was not free as advertised in the apartment listing and we had to pay.
The breakfast was the best I had in Morocco, replete with a resident tortoise which saunters around surprising me as I ate. The upper terraces had fantastic views of the harbour and the medina. The rooms and whole dar have an 1930s - 1950s feel of Tangier from a racier era. African themed prints, art, b&w photos, high ceilings, old mivie posters add to the ambience.
The rooms are good sized with separate sleeping and sitting areas. The location is in the Kasbah near the museum of Mediterranean cultures and the petit and grand solos.
The hotel was very comfortable, clean and the decor was very good.
The hotel has only 10 rooms, so you you feel like you are a special guest rather than just a number. The staff were very helpful, in particular, Juliette and Valerie.
The location was close to the Tangier Medina, which allowed you to explore the Medina without the hassle of getting a taxi to and from the Medina and Casbah.
The hotel restaurant food was also very good.
The outside garden and pool was a good setting to have a drink and enjoy the ambience.
Dar Nour was so authentic Tangier old medina with crazy winding alleyways , white stucco walls, narrow stairs, roof decks and authentically decorrations . Much attention is paid to detail in the furnishing, artwork, books and other nick nacks. It felt a little like a visit to a museum but the room was very comfortable. The staff were super helpful and arranged a taxi on arrival and departure. But the best thing was the dinner, the roof top dinning and bar was delightful and so picturest. The chef is a good as they say.
Tangiers Hostel is not only a simple place for travelers to rest and stop in the white city for some days. Tangiers hostel also feels like home. Is home. The boys of the staff are just super great and friendly, taking care of the customers. The structure is in the center of the old Medina, near the most important things to see and is a beautiful building. Is a cheap hostel with all the conforts and the breakfast is so big. I lived my best days in this hostel. I recommend everyone go to Tangier to spend his time here.
In all of the places I stayed in Morocco, this was by far the most beautiful place. The room was very clean, as soon as you walk in there is a beautiful smell. the man at the reception (his name was Ashraf) was exceptionally respectful and nice, he was very welcoming as we entered the hotel. The breakfast was good, and the staff as well were wonderful. If I come to tangier again, I will definitely visit this hotel. It is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in, in tangier. My kids loved the outdoor & indoor pool.
The Riad is in the heart of the Medina, the breakfast was fantastic, the room and hotel were super clean, there's good water pressure and very hot water, the bed was really comfortable and. It was everything I was hoping for. Lastly, but most importantly, the staff were fantastic. Especially a young lady by the name of Nada. She was there whenever I needed help or had a question. I love this place and believe you will too. Give them a try and ask for Nada and you won't be disappointed..5 stars.
The hotel's location is excellent! Walking distance to the medina, the beach and other attractions in Tangier. The breakfast was very good. We got a sea view room and had a lovely view of the ocean! The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel has modern décor and the rooms are spacious. Parking was easy and free. We ordered room service one night and it was reasonably priced and delicious! i had a Caesar salad and they added in anchovies for me. I hope to come back to this hotel!
The staff at Dar Sultan were kind, welcoming and extremely helpful. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and well located just inside the medina. We stayed in two rooms, one at the start of our trip and one at the end. Both rooms were warm, cozy and just as beautiful as the rest of the hotel. Great views from the terrace. As pointed out by other reviewers, breakfast was truly exceptional! We could not have asked for a better introduction to Morocco.
Dar Yasmine is in the Medina, the old market quarter of Tangier. It is across an alley from the Big Mosque. It is a charming place maybe dating back to the colonial era. There is no elevator and breakfast is served in a rooftop dining room 5 floors up with a view of the waterfront and of Spain in the distance. The small lobby is lovely and really conveys the feel of colonial-era Morocco.
Wonderful hotel with a beautiful marrocan interior in the very heart of the old city. Great friendly staff - the women serving breakfast were extremely sweet with a great sense of hospitality and a beautiful energy ! Nora and her assistant at reception were very nice and helpful, they helped us book excursions and taxis. We definitely recommend!
The best hotel in the medina !!!
Plain hotel and location is right above the bus station that cruises drop passengers off. I wasn't informed of the breakfast timings and arrived after 9am for bf, not knowing it's already closed. A nice crew at the kitchen helped me with some coffee and food before I made my wah to tangier city.
The hotel was centrally located to the Medina and other sites. It was very clean and inviting. We spent our last days in Morocco there and was a perfect place to relax and unwind before traveling home. The staff was very kind and helpful as well. We would definitely go back again.
I love the atmosphere of this iconic hotel. Its walls have stories to tell and btw there is even a small museum in it. Don’t expect many modern amenities in your room but a jump back in time in the 1960’s or so. Facing the port and right at the entrance of the old medina.
Amazing views of
Tangier and next to the medina. Nice to walk along the Corniche.
Helpful staff and hotel is very quirky/old. Had some lovely detail on building. Rooms a little dated but kept
In style of the hotel.
The room was clean, very comfortable, and the staff was amazing. A special thanks to Mr. Ahmed who went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Tangier.
The staff is very friendly and full of amazing tips and ideas and the rooftop is truly amazing and probably the best part of Tangier. The location is very central and close to cafes, shops and medina.
My first time in this hotel and I will definitely come back ! Very clean, staff very nice, breakfast good as well. Beach and medina by walk within few minutes, it’s definitely a good adress !
The location is great and the rooms are a nice size and comfortable.
There are several options for restaurants and shopping close by and the hotel is a easy walk to the Tangier medina.
Marvelous breakfast with variety, perfect service. Excellent straits view from the room, best location to explore Tangier. Staff is the best in Morocco.
