How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Room was quite compact and was in an annexe 40 metres from main hotel where you check in and have breakfast.
Excellent location near to arena. Clean and modern room. Very good breakfast. We arrived early in the morning and were allowed to leave our suitcase in safe storage so we could explore Verona. We had an early flight home and staff allowed us to have breakfast at 6.45 am (instead of 7am) and they ordered a taxi for us at 7.05.

Its not their fault but air conditioner went out. they did have workers working on it the very next day

Air conditioning didn't work. Room only had balcony doors and it was pouring rain both nights so we couldn't open the doors. It made the room very warm.
The location was centrally located for seeing the sites.

The room was too small but for the old building in Italy, I think is normal.
There is good breakfast and the hotel is near to the city centre.

The maids start the cleaning early in the morning which might wake you up. Also, in one morning o e of them was talking loudly on the telephone, so better training in this direction would be needed.
The rooms are just across the street from the Hotel (so keep in mind that you are not staying in a hotel), so you can easily walk to the hotel for breakfast. The rooms are in the center, so everything is in walking distance. The location is on a secondary street, so away from traffic noise, although there are three restaurants on the street, so if your room will face the street in can be noisy. It looks just like a hotel room, so you will not feel any difference. Everything was clean, you get cleaning every day. There are a lot of nice restaurants in walking distance and a private parking in walking distance also (if the one from the hotel is fully booked).

Breakfast isn’t great, very ‘unique’ choice of food and drink. Luggage storage room felt a little sketchy. But otherwise everything else was great.
The hotel was comfortable, very convenient location and great value for money. Staff friendly and the room was a nice size. Easy to find and brilliant recommended stay if you’re going to Verona

The room was very small, need to move one after the other, the mattress was old and worn out.
The location is perfect, near Arena, 10 min walks from the train station. The staff is very communicative. We stayed in the rooms at the building near the hotel. The breakfast is served at the hotel. but is baried and the restorant is clean.

Perfect location just a few minutes from Arena and the historical center. Perfect staff Great breakfast. They should check that hot water for shower is available 24 hours. Nice choice for couple of days in Verona.

The bed was divided in the middle and somehow we tend to slide into the gap.
Amazing location, everything is nearby. Wonderfull service, rich breakfast.

The only thing that bothered us a little was that the room was very cold and there was no extra blanket.
We stayed at Mastino Rooms for one night, the room was small but had everything we needed. The staff was amiable and helpful. The location was excellent, it is literally a minute from the arena in Verona. For those arriving by car, do not worry, they have a really good parking lot, it is very secure, so you do not have to stress about the car. All in all, it was a pleasant stay.
